Already have, second time there and will definitely go back to either the large or small lake. So peaceful and Frank and Mark are top chaps.

Details of your catches:

We had 60 fish over the week fishing swims 1 and 2 with the vast majority coming after dark. Smallest was 19lb, largest 46lb. Most fish were over 27lb and in mint condition.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We used high quality bollies and baited up an area twice a day using throwing sticks to an area between the middle of lake and far margin. This brought the fish out of the snags to feed.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower and toilets were clean and well maintained and being able to drive car up to swim meant setting up and packing up were very easy.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

General Comments:

The only thing I would mention is that there is not much action during the day and most of the catches and runs came at night, which might not suit some anglers as night fishing is much harder

Details of your catches:

- 26 carp to 47lb by Graham Blackmun in swim 1
- 26 carp to 45lb by Mark Ebbage in swim 2
- 9 carp to 34lb 12oz by Simon Souster in swim 2
Average weight just under 30lb. Lost one catfish. About 50/50 commons and mirrors; the 2 x 40's were commons

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

20mm Big Carp Krill or Squid/Salmon boilies fished in the middle of the lake (we do not use bait-boats); 95% of fish caught during darkness. Basic hair rigs tied direct to stripped/unstripped soft coated hook links or fluorocarbon D rigs; long hook links (ca 12").

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, maybe better

Were you happy with them?

Yes. Toilets and Showers were very clean.

General Comments:

The lake is very quiet; you can't see the other anglers, it's like fishing an exclusive lake.
The fish are in superb condition and are nicely proportioned - no "beer guts"!

Yes, we did have great time, despite being a bit worried at first that our "no bait-boats" principles would hold us back, but we got all our fish in the middle, so no problems there.

I can also confirm that we had absolutely no sign of crayfish, and no rats either!
