Details of your catches:

26 carp caught, including 5 grass carp. Biggest 42lb 4oz grass carp and 41lb common. 8 × 30s and 10 × 25+, a mixture of commons and mirrors.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tiger nut hookbaits (to avoid the attention of the poisson chat catfish) fished over hemp and boilies dropped with a bait boat.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are adequate and now with 24hr charging facilities.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes would recommend this venue.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Would recommend using a bait boat as most fish are caught from the far bank. Bites can come at anytime. The bailiffs Frank and Mark are excellent and always willing to offer advice.

Details of your catches:

All together 45 fish caught between 7 of us over the week

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

You had to use tiger nut because the crays and small catfish kept takingvthe normal bait

Were the facilities what you expected?

Ideal for drive and survive

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

When the lake is full of water and some big fish in there yes other than that no

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes always great service

General Comments:

Because of having no rain and no other way of filling ithe lake up we was struggling to fish in 2 foot of water when landing 30lb carp and from your swim you had a 5 foot drop before touching the water. We was told there was 50lb + carp in there and clearly there wasn't
AL Note. Water levels are indeed low between 2 and 3'6". The carp remain healthy and fishable but certainly conditions are testing. Carp stocks in this Lake do remain exactly the same as before.

Details of your catches:

No catch until Tuesday night, my first catch 23lb common carp then no bites at all from any of us four all day or night. Even after asking where to fish and what bait and being told to use a bait boat (which I had to borrow) to get the best spots! Until finally on the last night at 3am I had a 25lb mirror and my father in law on my swim had a 27lb common but other than that there was nothing happening at swim 4!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Nothing seemed to work, just seemed to be luck rather than best baits but the spots were definitely out of casting distance and the need for a bait boat was a must! (Which was not specified!)

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes the facilities were decent and what I expected on a fishing lake although the electricity could be more accessible and the fact we had to tent up away from our swim over a bridge of a river wasn’t very safe or satisfactory.

Were you happy with them?

Mostly yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Not for the fishing as with 4 anglers and 3 fish in a week it’s not worth it but the venue was good if it was fishing well and the staff (when there) were easy to talk to and mostly helpful especially mark!

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Your services were brilliant and I would yes.

General Comments:

The need for a bait boat needs to be specified for definite and the fact swim 3 is tented away from the swim should be said as this isn’t ideal with fish being caught early hours of the night with no light to see the bridge!

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We do want to point out that the layout of swim 3 is pictured on the website under 'lake photos'. We also agree that a bait boat can be advantageous if you are not comfortable casting the distances required, however we do believe this is subjective and anglers do fish this lake without a bait boat successfully also.

Details of your catches:

We only managed 3 fish due to if you haven’t got a good long range bait boat you can’t reach the fish on other side of bank we’re seems only place you can catch also only feed at night apart from that camping wise 100%

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Under trees far bank, coconut boilies, long way out

Were the facilities what you expected?

100%
