Shortly after being dug in the late 60's carp were added to the lake and a number of these original stock still thrive today. These include around 10 grass carp.

The lake record currently stands at over 57lb. Here's a history of the stocking:

In 2012 Bruno added to the original stock with 26 lovely mirrors of between 10lb and 25lb, plus a few commons. In December 2015 there was a further stocking of 44 fish. These comprise of forty carp ranging between 15-22lb plus a 36lb'er, a 42lb'er, 44lb'er and one at 50lb. In January 2019 another 10 carp, all over 30lb and in November 2021 a further 55 carp between 15-25lb. In November 2024 a further 70 carp were stocked between 15 - 25lb. The most recent addition (November 2025), saw another 15 beautiful carp between 13lb and 22lb introduced.

We estimate the total number of carp stocked in the lake (and accounting for natural losses over the years) to be around 295 between 15-57lb.

There are also around 15 koi carp in the lake, plus a few zander, pike and perch for those who prefer their fish with sharp teeth. There are no catfish.

With the feeding program taking place during the winter when there are no anglers present, we continually see good growth rates and healthy, happy fish, meaning excellent quality carp fishing in France near Calais.
