About the Lake
The lake is kidney shaped with a clay bottom and mature foliage all around the margins. The depths range from 1.2m to 2.2m at the bottom end. There is nothing that causes anglers' concern in terms of weed or snags however there is an overflow pipe in the lake which is a caution zone. As the lake has been drained, de-silted and re-shaped we have no crayfish or poisson chat issues.
You can choose to fish from the double swim directly in front of the accommodation or, alternatively, half way up the lake there is a peninsula going out into the water that offers a great base for up to three anglers to enjoy a social whilst reaching all areas of the lake. This swim also has electric points for charging your items.
Weigh slings and carp cradles will be provided for your use free of charge and these must be used.
There is an all-weather road to all swims and the railway carriage, so car access is possible whatever the weather. There is also room for smaller campervans and caravans to park by the side of the lake if you wish.
