Details of your catches:
Mark: mirror carp 27.0, 32.12, 36.4
Graham: common carp 40.0
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Not enough runs to make any judgement
Were the facilities what you expected?
Better. The fishing hut has table and benches so you can eat indoors if weather is bad. The swims have lots of space and there is plenty of shade if it gets too hot.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, as long as they don't expect a runs water :-)
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes
General Comments:
The lake is perfect for a small group. Lots of features and some big fish. Location is very quiet and remote, which suited us perfectly. Mark showed us round and explained the facilities, which are perfect for the size of the lake.
I think we were a bit unlucky with the weather, as the day and night temperatures dropped 10 °C the day we arrived and although the days were sunny the nights were very cold. The winds were from the North and East most of the week and with high pressure I don't think that improved our chances.
However, as we were not expecting the water to be easy we were happy with what we caught. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Accurate bait placement at range. Bait boat with effective sonar is an absolute must to get the best from your stay.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. Basic but adequate. I highly recommend anglers bring their own fridge that runs off gas. The fridge supplied was a squeeze for 4 people.
Mark continually ran back and forth with freezer plates for the giant coolbox which was a real lifeline. An option would be to bring extra freezer plates with you for Mark to freeze at Jonchery, this will keep the coolbox in play for longer and for larger groups.
The supermarkets at Brienne do not sell ice, however a bit of sweet talking at the fresh fish counter could see you get a couple of bags of crushed ice.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Absolutely. Fish are in A1 condition, by far the best looking fish I’ve ever caught in France.,
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, as always AL manage everything easily and effectively.
General Comments:
Evaro isn’t suited to novice anglers due to the topography and tactics required. The stunning fish are well worth the effort when you catch them.
