24th Aug to 31st Aug 2024
3 anglers
Details of your catches:
9 fish caught up to 48.5lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Lots of maize and boilies, all rigs caught.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes
Were you happy with them?
Yes, a little tired but adequate, a curtain or door separating the toilet would be useful. The solar power wasn't a problem and easily ran everything we had.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes
General Comments:
Very hot week with temperatures over 30 degrees which made the fishing a bit harder. Mark looked after us well and kept us well topped up with bait when we needed it. We all enjoyed the week and managed to keep the Mozzy's away.

Details of your catches:
6 common carp biggest was 42lb, 3 mirror carp to 50lb 8oz.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fishing to the treeline on rhe left of peg 1 was the most productive, using a baitboat to drop large amounts of particle to build the swim and fishing snowman rigs over the top, essential cell and the lake plum boiles were used.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, as a drive and survive venue the facilities are perfect, hot shower a toilet and a fridge. The cabin is open plan and is lockable from the inside to stop people entering when using the facilities.
Were you happy with them?
Yes everthing worked and it was Mozzy free and clean.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would reccomend to a friend without a problem.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
We have used Angling Lines for several years now and have never had a problem.
General Comments:
The Mosquitoes here are insane, swarms of them, practically keeping you prisoner in your bivvy, it maybe because the recent flooding but go prepared, mozzy coils and at least 2 bottles of repellant per person. We went under prepared and are still paying the itchy price, Mark was amazing, he managed to get us some repellant. We have fished several Bachelier lakes that Mark bailiffs and have never had an issue.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Plum Boilies.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Very disappointed, No door to toilet and shower room, and shower water was intermittent cold and hot water. If it was just a bunch of lads you could get by, but one of our group had his wife with him. *Angling Lines note* We discussed this with the owner, there is a lockable door on the facilities cabin and frosted windows on the side that anglers would access.
Were you happy with them?
No.

we have always recommended angling lines, especially on social media, so you can understand our frustration as to the way things were handled for the first four days.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
It totally depends on how this could be resolved, we have had previous bookings with angling lines with no problems. Brigette tried to help with trying to find another lake, which was 3 hours away, and to be honest is a bit too far, which turned out was already booked. We was also offered Brocard Large which also had flooding issues, as one of our friends was also moved from, and ended up at Jonchery. We eventually found another lake 40 mins away, and obviously more expense but at least we could fish.
General Comments:
Mark met us on arrival, after that we didn’t see Mark until the Tuesday, we had our bait order delivered on the Saturday by some elderly gent, so we did not get any advice regarding advice on the lake. Three of us had to leave as our swims were totally flooded, and two of our group stayed, one of which moved 5 times because of the rising water, and was still rising on the Saturday of departure. We was told there was weed around but not too bad, we had to remove loads of weed before we could fish, I personally do not think that is acceptable. If the three of us could be compensated, that would certainly resolve this issue. *Angling Lines note* We have discussed this with the owners; they considered the venue to be fishable with water levels comparable to previous weeks when fishing had taken place. In addition, some of the group did stay the full week on a lake exclusive booking. Consequently, they do not feel able to offer compensation in this case. We fully appreciate it has been an incredibly wet start to the season. An unprecedented amount of rain has meant water levels have, naturally, yo-yo'd over a number of weeks leading to some very challenging conditions.
