Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Lake plum bolies tipped with maize, cast to clear areas of lake.

Yes all good, hot shower was good.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
If an experienced angler, not a beginners water and a bit small for me personally.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, Angling Lines always faultless with their service
General Comments:
March was rough, freezing cold, 70mph winds, raining most of week heavily.....but still loved the challenge.

Details of your catches:
2 x mirrors at 40lb 4oz and 42lb 8oz
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fishing was very slow despite very good weather for the time of year 15-22 degrees all week with periods of low pressure. Both fish fell to lightly baited areas with sweetcorn. These were the only two bites the lake did this week, so hard to really gauge successful tactics. We stuck to our spots and baited little each day, but due to the lack of action only used around 8-10kg of boilie and sweetcorn between us all week.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, facilities were good. Mark came down and changed the battery in the cabin when needed.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, I would recommend, however only to experienced anglers, it's easy to see why so many people struggle on this venue.

General Comments:
The lake was lovely and the two fish we caught were amongst the nicest carp we've caught in France, Oxfordshire looking scaley mirrors. Fishing from peg one, there are little to no features until you reach the central series of bars at 120-140 yards, it is flat and baron until then, we saw no fish in this area all week. A bait boat is pretty much essential (with an echo ideally - we didn't have one though), there is plenty of weed present, so walking around to the halfway point with a marker rod to find spots is also recommended, then drive your boat out to these spots. Driving a boat out to the middle and dropping aimlessly will end up in a blank, the topography is up and down out in the middle. We blanked the first 6 nights with the fish holding over the bars up the far end 160-180 yards away from us, the last night the weather changed, and we managed to pick up two lovely 40's, one just shy of the central bar at 120 yards and the other from the left-hand margin after seeing a show there that evening.

Details of your catches:
2 carp mid 30lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Small beds of particles and boilies near weed beds, wafters fished over the top.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes very clean
Were you happy with them?

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Not for the inexperienced, very low stock. Only really targeting one fish.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Angling lines yes, Evaro no
General Comments:
Due to its low stock of fish and the lake itself Evaro is not for the inexperienced angler.

Details of your catches:
Mark: mirror carp 27.0, 32.12, 36.4 Graham: common carp 40.0
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Not enough runs to make any judgement
Were the facilities what you expected?
Better. The fishing hut has table and benches so you can eat indoors if weather is bad. The swims have lots of space and there is plenty of shade if it gets too hot.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, as long as they don't expect a runs water :-)

General Comments:
The lake is perfect for a small group. Lots of features and some big fish. Location is very quiet and remote, which suited us perfectly. Mark showed us round and explained the facilities, which are perfect for the size of the lake. I think we were a bit unlucky with the weather, as the day and night temperatures dropped 10 °C the day we arrived and although the days were sunny the nights were very cold. The winds were from the North and East most of the week and with high pressure I don't think that improved our chances. However, as we were not expecting the water to be easy we were happy with what we caught. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
