Details of your catches:

2 common carp 36lbs and 38.48lbs and a 10lb bream

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Difficult week as fish were spawning didn’t get any runs until the last day perseverance payed off and small change to hook bait

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes just as described clean and tidy

Were you happy with them?

More than happy

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Absolutely but maybe not in may mosquitos were horrendous and fish spawning made it a hard week

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Angling lines services were perfect and won’t hesitate to recommend you

General Comments:

Great trip, I didn’t blank (fortunately), fantastic lake will definitely go there again, Mark the bailiff was awesome thanks for your help on a difficult weeks fishing.

Details of your catches:

3 Carp. 36 lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Plum Boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very disappointed, No door to toilet and shower room, and shower water was intermittent cold and hot water.
If it was just a bunch of lads you could get by, but one of our group had his wife with him.

*Angling Lines note* We discussed this with the owner, there is a lockable door on the facilities cabin and frosted windows on the side that anglers would access.

Were you happy with them?

No.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

we have always recommended angling lines, especially on social media, so you can understand our frustration as to the way things were handled for the first four days.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

It totally depends on how this could be resolved, we have had previous bookings with angling lines with no problems.
Brigette tried to help with trying to find another lake, which was 3 hours away, and to be honest is a bit too far, which turned out was already booked. We was also offered Brocard Large which also had flooding issues, as one of our friends was also moved from, and ended up at Jonchery. We eventually found another lake 40 mins away, and obviously more expense but at least we could fish.

General Comments:

Mark met us on arrival, after that we didn’t see Mark until the Tuesday, we had our bait order delivered on the Saturday by some elderly gent, so we did not get any advice regarding advice on the lake.
Three of us had to leave as our swims were totally flooded, and two of our group stayed, one of which moved 5 times because of the rising water, and was still rising on the Saturday of departure.
We was told there was weed around but not too bad, we had to remove loads of weed before we could fish, I personally do not think that is acceptable.
If the three of us could be compensated, that would certainly resolve this issue.

*Angling Lines note* We have discussed this with the owners; they considered the venue to be fishable with water levels comparable to previous weeks when fishing had taken place. In addition, some of the group did stay the full week on a lake exclusive booking. Consequently, they do not feel able to offer compensation in this case. We fully appreciate it has been an incredibly wet start to the season. An unprecedented amount of rain has meant water levels have, naturally, yo-yo'd over a number of weeks leading to some very challenging conditions.

Details of your catches:

2 fish (1 each) 19lb and 36lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Can’t really say due to poor catch report

Were the facilities what you expected?

Basic but sufficient… a freezer would be nice.
Electricity is solar powered and did drop out one day but Mark came straight over and had it back up and running straight away.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, although we had a bad week the lake was fishing very hard having produced 1 bite for six anglers the week before. We know the fish are in there and certainly heard them every night after dark!

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Tough week, scorching heat week before we arrived then lots of storms, rain, high winds and chilly nights. Unsurprisingly switched the fish off from feeding and made the fishing very difficult… we will be back to try again!
