Details of your catches:

Steve and I were in swim 2 and fished for 2 weeks. We had a total of 19 fish between us including 2 grass carp over 60lb each, 7 x 40's, 8 x 30's and 2 x 20's.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Lake boilie fished over pellets and particle.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes

Were you happy with them?

Very happy. The facilities are kept in a very clean and tidy fashion. The dining area is very nice with new tables and chairs. There is a huge freezer for bait and allocated space in the 2 large fridges. There is also a designated charging area for each swim ( a UK plug adaptor is required for these )

General Comments:

This is an absolutely fantastic venue. Mark the bailiff and Anita are great hosts and will go out of their way to make sure your holiday is as enjoyable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I would thoroughly recommend the food package as Anita's cooking is excellent and she provides a varied menu. Sunday roast and pie night are the highlights but all the food is exceptional. Mark is very friendly and will give you all the advice and tips that you need to catch. We purchased all our bait from him as it is of high quality and very well priced but most of all it catches fish. The venue is stocked with hard fighting, beautiful fish that will bring a smile to any anglers face. This was our 7th or 8th visit and we have booked a week for next year already.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tough week all round. Just out of spawning, weather was horrendous.
Snowman set up best results, house Sweet Plum Boilie with Mainline Fruity Pop Up Topper brought all the bites.
Tight in the margins worked well, or a couple of deeper spots out in the middle produced as well.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Good charging points, good fridge and freezer space for the pegs.
Clean toilet and shower.
(Possibly need another toilet and shower, or avoid the busier morning periods)
Mark the host was very helpful and accommodating
Small onsite shop with essentials

Were you happy with them?

Yes. Very happy

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Definitely. We just picked a bad week, but we will be back.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, very helpful and communication is great.

General Comments:

This water is by no means a runs water, but we expected around 6 or 7 fish each, and we did have the worst peg on the lake (Peg 5) but I would go back and still fish that peg. You have around 6 to 7 acres of water to go at without any other angler in sight.
The fish were boshing on arrival and we caught three decent fish to 55lb (new PB) within two days, most bites coming after 6pm and up to 1am. Then the weather turned and we had thunderstorm conditions for 4 days and the bites stopped and no more fish were visible. Very tough and a bit soul destroying, but we did our best and it was still very enjoyable, the wildlife around the lake is phenomenal. Stick to your spots, bait regularly and keep quiet. Take a bike if on pegs 3 or 5, you are a good walk from the facilities.
