We caught 24 mirrors and commons ranging from 20lb to 43lb, we had 12 over 30lb and 3 over 40lb fishing days only

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Simple bottom baits 20mm tuff sticky manila worked well over cooked maize. Tuff baits kept the cray fish off

General Comments:

It is a really nice lake in very peaceful surroundings, but the under water snags urgently need removing, it's very frustrating waiting 6 hours for a run and you loose the fish due to snags, we know how to fish this venue tight clutches ect but the branches are in many places are as much as 20 feet out from bank. I had to row out 4 times spoiling our swim worrying if i had tethered a fish. I also feel barbless hooks should be compulsory as we saw a lot of damaged mouths, tackle should be checked.

54 fish in total. Mirror to 44 lb, common to 35 lb, grass to 20 lb. Peg 1- 23 fish, peg 2- 19 fish and peg 3-
12 fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All fish caught on basic bottom bait rigs. Remember the lake doesn't just have a far margin. Fish were caught all across the lake. Find spots and you will catch plenty.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were what you would expect clean and very adequate.

Yes very enjoyable holiday. Joanne is an excellent host and her food package is second to none, top notch and very highly recommended. The lake is fairly shallow with a soft bed and some of the fish mouths are in a poor state. Peg three does need some attention to the far side little islands that could cause tethered fish.

I would, did I mention the food package !!!!!

General Comments:

Overall very good but some of the fish need to be placed in a haven.

*Angling Lines note* Fish safety is of utmost concern to the current owner, who has already removed many underwater hazards since taking the lake over and plans to do more work this winter on remaining snags (whilst maintaining the character of the lake of course). We hope that this along with the sensible set of rules will go a long way to protecting the fish for many years to come. Thank you for your feedback.

Swim # 1 ( Simon - 1 x double, 4 x 20's, 6 x 30's to 39lbs8oz )
Single 18mm Cell or Manilla bottom baits close to margins and Dam wall

Swim # 2 ( Tony and Stuart - 6 x doubles, 28 x 20's, 17 x 30's and 1 x 48 lbs Common )
Single 18mm Cell Bottom baits bait boated close to far margins, a lot of fish also being had with single bait cast to mid water

Swim # 3 ( Dan and Peter - 8 x doubles, 24 x 20's, 13 x 30's )
Single 16mm Manilla , IB's, Squid bottom baits cast to various features
