News from Laroussi lake

Catfish stocked at Laroussi!, 1st May
We have just received 5 new Wels catfish. Their length is between 1.35m and 1.45m and the weights are: 44lb, 46lb, 48lb 8oz, 48lb 8oz, 51lb.
These new fish will be some very hard fighters for the anglers!!! I attach some pictures.

Name angler: Dean Molloy
Rod: Shakespeare quarzlite 2.5lb TC
Reel: Daiwa regal-z 4050 BRT
Line: 15lb Krystonite. Hook: N°6 wide gape Korda
Hooklink: Snake bite 25lb
Bait: 14mm bottom bait Fusion
I caught this fish at 65 yards on a small plateau of 4 feet, at 7h 30 am, Tuesday 5 July 2005, on the swim " La Plage". It is the biggest fish of my life ! My last biggest fish was a mirror of 11lb so I smahed it of 85lb!!!
The fish does a terrible rush across the lake and I couldn't stop it!!! Then the fish turned and after 35mn of a very hard fight we landed him on the beach. What a fish!!! really pleased! New personal best.
Me: This monster catfish has been stocked 2 years ago at 66lb and 1.80m. Since this date, nobody has caught it but lost it a lot of times: hook pulled, snapped line or opened the hook.... I thought he was big but 96lb and 1.90m is unbelievable!!!! 30lb in 2 years! and 10cm!! New lake record!

What a Start – 4 x 50’s in 5 days!, 1st Apr
Angling Lines lake Laroussi has really started with a bang... no less than 5 different 50lb+ fish have come out in 5 days starting April 20th.
The catches went like this: Mr Bernard: 50lb 12oz mirror, 20th April; Mr Mc Leeuwen: 53lb mirror, 21st April; Mr Kennett: 54lb 10oz mirror, 24th April; Mr Clarke: 51lb mirror, 25th April.
Different swims, different fish, different anglers.... Laroussi really is living up to its emerging reputation as a big fish water.

What a week's fishing!!! , 1st Apr

Hi David What a week's fishing!!! In 7 days, we have had 6 fifties: 50lb 12oz... 51lb 8oz... 53lb... 54lb... 54lb 8oz... 54lb 10oz. I'm waiting for 2 or 3 other big carp (ones which were between 45lb and 47lb last year) - I'm sure these fish are very, very close or are themselves fifties... So now we have at least 6 different fifties at Laroussi...
I have got a lot of photos of Mr Clarke and the fifty of Mr Kennett. If you need more information about the catches, the swim, the tactics, the baits etc..... Do not hesitate to ask me David.
