All the facilities you need, a BIG freezer and a separate large fridge. English toilet UK Charging sockets Shower Bait sold on site (very good particles at a reasonable price) All very clean

General Comments:

Mehdi and hiss wife are so welcoming and very helpful throughout our holiday. Mehdi even help me book a midweek go karting session at Le Mans so we could rest the swim for half a day which I always do when I fish a lake for a week and I definitely recommend doing. Also Le Mans is only 10-12mins away where you will find shops and food outlets and obviously the go kart track which is an awesome track and not expensive we done 3 x 10 min sessions for £42 and 3 sessions is enough. Once again you will not meet a nice most helpful bloke than Mehdi, the man's a legend. Keep up the good work and me and Neo will hopefully be back next year to hunt for that 50 or maybe a 60lb.

Between bottom baits & pop ups there was no clear winner but a switch to zigs got some late results.

Angling Lines were fantastic! Because of travel restrictions last year our trip was pushed back a year without any cost or consequence. We also made three changes to our crossings which was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

General Comments:

Collectively within our group we have visited over 25 French lakes and we all agreed that Laroussi is up there with one of the most attractive. Studying the lake on Google earth before we left didn’t do the scenery justice. Medhi the lake owner, has allowed the tree lined margins to mature meaning that all but one swim has enough shade even in the burning summer sun. Every swim allows you to look for the features they possess. Whether it’s the extensive gravel bars that run through the lake bottom or the tree lined margins, there’s enough options to keep you thinking. As with every review, we can only verify all the niceties mentioned about Medhi. Friendly, always spoke with a smile, enthusiastic and helpful. When he offers some advise listen! As for the fishing, the lake has had many cats and grassies under 50lb removed meaning there’s more bait for the resident carp to eat and hopefully they can push on with their weight. I see this lake in transition. By French standards, there isn’t enough carp 50lb + yet to be get away with being a low stocked big fish lake. As what every good fishery manager should do, Medhi has a stock pond with fully scaled and liners waiting to be transferred when they’re big enough so watch this space! The 40c heat that greeted us on our first day was the first indicator of how battered by the weather we’d be by the end of the week! Storms hit much of Northern France and it felt like we were caught in the middle of it. But for some of our stay we had text book “Carpy” weather - mild, cloudy and a slight breeze/low ish pressure. The carp responded by showing themselves predominantly in out of reach casting areas. Bite times were early in the mornings but a late switch to zigs by the end of the week managed to yield some rewards before darkness fell. Advice would be to take a bike as most swims are a fair way from the facilities, listen to Medhi and don’t ignore zigs.
