Since my last visit there is a new purpose built cabin with 2x great showers and plenty of hot water, toilet and fridges, freezers and electric. The facilities are Excellent

General Comments:

Lepinet is a good size lake a bait boat or boat would be useful to take for long range work. The facilities are excellent for a drive and survive. The area of France is very picturesque and there are some excellent shops, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The fish I caught had large fins and tails for their size so put up a really good fight and strong good tackle would be recommended.

I had 12 carp up to 55lb - long, short, fat and thin I had a great selection of fish during the week!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Throughout the whole week I was baiting with washed out 20mm boilies and tigernuts, fishing simple KD rigs with a boilie fresh out the bag. I found there was no need to over-complicate on this lake, but I would recommend a boat or baitboat to make the most of your water.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were quite new when we arrived so we found them in perfect condition, warm showers and also extremely clean. Plenty of fridge and freezer space for food and bait and a couple of extension leads to provide enough sockets!

Were you happy with them?

Totally! You couldn’t ask for much more.

General Comments:

Lepinet really is a wonderful lake to fish whilst also enjoying a great holiday. With large double swims and some lovely bays, you can enjoy plenty of space for yourself whilst keeping the social element to your trip! The halfway line is clearly marked by a rope and buoys - and this is also a great marker to fish towards! I feel like there is still so much to go for in Lepinet and I am already looking forward to returning in the near future!!

Yes it has all been updated and is perfect for a drive and survive: fridge, freezer, toilet and showers, and power.

General Comments:

I really, really like Lepinet. I think the main reason for this is that I can see years of fishing for me at the venue: lots to go at. One really good thing is that you really don’t know what you are going to catch. There are scaly ones, big lumps, mirrors, commons… when that rod goes off you really don’t know what is going to be on the other end. I like that. A quick heads up. If you ever fancy a break from the lake and want to go to a nice little French restaurant with a cheapish lunchtime set menu then look at Le St Jacques. Remember you are on holiday!

Details of your catches:

Very slow weeks fishing all bites and runs came at night only landed 3 over the week with the biggest being 38lb and smallest at 16lb but very happy as it wasn’t a blank.

Will be looking to book again next year and will bring a boat with me next time as a lot of the fish are out in the middle and that’s a good 200 yards or more.

All in all very happy the the venue and the staff that pop in from time to time very helpful and would recommend to friends.
