General Comments:

Quite a Poor Week of Carp Catches. 3 Anglers out of 8 Blanked, Only Produced x1 50Lb Mirror and x1 40lb Mirror with numerous Newley Stocked 20lb'ders. Fishery had suffered from Fish Losses, and it showed in the success rates of our party members. The lake itself is very picturesque, and swims are good, however let down by the lack of large carp numbers. On a Positive note, One member of our Party did land a Sturgeon of 170lb. I would return to this Lake but only after a good few years have passed to allow the lake stocks and sizes to recover to there former glory.   *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed the fish loss with the owner Sebastien, unfortunately the lake experienced slightly higher than usual carp losses during spawning this year, due to the fluctuating temperatures & weather conditions (similar to a number of other lakes in France). He estimates to have lost no more than 50 carp from an overall stock of 700+. Sebastien confirmed he has undertaken an additional stocking of carp this November and the full details and photos are on the latest news section of the Lepinet webpage.

Details of your catches:

1 × sturgeon 170+lb 1 × 50lb carp 1 × 40lb carp 2 x 30lb+ carp Multiple mid to low 20s carp

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Small beds of bait with pop up or wafters

Were the facilities what you expected?

I thought that each side of the lake had its own cabin. But it was shared between the whole lake

Were you happy with them?

They were ok, could use another toilet. Maybe a couple more showers

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would recommend, however I did have a couple issues with it.

General Comments:

We found out upon arrival that the lake had lost a number of fish. The reasoning was quite unclear, as well as how many the venue had actually lost. It was evident from the week that this was true, as the majority of fish caught were between 15lb and 25lb. It seemed that they were freshly stocked fish, and not the intended specimens that you go to France for. The larger fish caught all came from 1 swim. It's obviously lovely to catch regardless of size, however it is a long journey and a lot of money to catch fish that you could quite easily get back home. The owners were friendly, and the complex itself is of a good standard. However, I feel like if we were made aware of the situation prior to arriving we could have possibly booked something else *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. Details of your catches:

4 of us fished Lepinet South pegs 2 and 3 for a total of 15 carp. Tim had 6 fish to 32lb, Andy with 5 fish to 39lb, Chris with 3 fish to 36lb and the 1 mirror for me at 47lb 6oz. The entire south side fished very badly, with the pair in peg 1 only catching 2 x double figure carp and the couple in peg 5 only catching 1 double. The North side fished a lot better, with the majority of fish holding up in front of peg 11 margins, on the back of the NE wind. We only saw 1 fish jump on our side of the rope all week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The fish we did catch came on a variety of methods from match the hatch to high attract type hookbaits.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes - The showers were a little bit snug for the larger members of our party though :)

Were you happy with them?

Yes - As expected.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, but on a more productive week.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Always have had a good experience with Angling lines.
