Carp to 47lb 7oz and Catfish to 54lb 8oz.
All swims producing well.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Boillie over pellet. Inferno Boilies (supplied at the lake) work as well as Krill and Cell.
You need to find the right spot but the fish were showing quite clearly. Richard the owner is on hand to offer any help or advice you may need. He's a great guy and extremely knowledgeable - listen to what he tells you as he wants you to catch fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Great little cabin and the shower was so good!! Great water pressure and plenty of hot water.

Totally.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would certainly recommend this lake to anyone. Great for new starters as Richard is there to provide support. The lake is very well maintained and there are hardly any snags to worry about.
It's also great for experienced anglers as you can work out feeding spots etc and get the rewards. Some lovely fish to be caught.

General Comments:

We had a fantastic week here. Will definitely be back. Weather was hot (mid 30's most days) but the fish were feeding! Supermarket isn't far away but the lake is surrounded by fields and so peaceful - no road noise or anything.

Between the 4 of us we caught 60 fish consisting of carp and catfish.

Bottom baits using a fake Maize topper.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The cabin was better than I expected. The shower there is better than mine at home!

After slow start due to spawning we ended up with 21 carp up to 40lbs and lost 3 of the big cats.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All fish caught on wafters don't stick to the same spots try moving around on small spots of bait.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The cabin was a lot better than we expected the beds comy and all the cooking equipment you need.The shower is hot and plenty of water.

Were you happy with them?

Yes as all you need for a trip did not fish nights but slept so well,we didn't cook much as went out but everything you need to cook meal.

Yes but would like just lake booking option as sometimes don't need ferry as going over before or staying on longer.

General Comments:

A lovely lake and so peaceful and Richard knows his lake so listen to him,we had spawning for 3 days so kept catching down.We will go back as a great lake and special thanks to Bob the four legged baliffe for keeping us entertained a lovely dog.

We had a really productive week with 30 fish in total: Carp up to 50lb as well as cats of 40lb and 50lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

For us both, bottom baits and wafters worked over small amounts of crushed/chopped boilies and particle loose feed. Watch the water, listen carefully to Richard’s advice and you won’t go far wrong.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Overall the facilities were better than expected. The location of the cabin so close to our swims which was really great.
