Move to where you see fish. Don’t feel like you have to stay in the same spot.

The facilities were excellent, the beds are comfy, the bathroom was very clean with a nice shower. Great idea to have English sockets as well.

General Comments:

Richard was a great host, the facilities, the lake, and the location were all great. An amazing trip all round.

Details of your catches:

A superb week for a holiday in the sun, but not ideal for the fishing! High pressure all week, but we managed 26 carp to 46lb, another 12x 30lb+ with the rest 20lb+. Also had 6x cats including 2x 30lb+ and 3 over 40lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Mixture of maize/10mm wafters and 8mm popups using bright colours with small loads of freebies in the margins and 2/3rd's across the lake. Few fish also taken from the back of the island and the gravel bars on the shallows.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Lodge is perfect for us to store our clothes, cook and have a hot shower - all clean, well equipped and plenty of room.

Were you happy with them?

Rick and Sue we brilliant, we had a nightmare getting there due to the motorhome breaking down in Caen (only 7,000 miles on the clock...). Rick took us to the supermarket and looked after us, knowing we had no transport until finally the AA managed to get us a hire van - Rick also took me to Europcar to pick up the van - you can't ask for a more caring and genuine host.
As we were delayed another week - Rick got us onto another local lake which was also excellent, until we were able to get back to the UK.
Motorhome is still in France - never ever breakdown in France, it's a total nightmare even with the max insurance cover money can buy!

Hard weeks fishing but done well to catch the 8 fish Ritchie the bailiff was extremely helpful an a friendly person looking to book again in near future.Also angling lines where very helpful aswell as always.

Details of your catches:

After having biblical weather all week, rain everyday, we managed still to catch 28 carp up to 38lb 11oz. Never got in to the big girls, but fish all hard fighting fit carp.

Wafter baits work very well

All there for the angler, best powerful shower I have ever experienced, no issues.
