Poor! I caught one measly carp at 20lb, Lewis caught 2 mirror carp one at 24lb and one at 16lb, Danny caught one decent catfish at around 79lb and one carp also in the 20lb's. And kirk caught 4 carp one at 30lb and the other 3 all mid 20's. It was absolutely appalling fishing, nothing we could do to get the fish eating and I understand that's how it goes sometimes but this trip is the straw that broke the camels back and has made me decide to sell my gear and leave carp fishing behind.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

None!!! We tried everything and the fish just weren't biting. I think The fish that were caught came down to sheer luck.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Not really no. Kitchen and bathroom were basic but absolutely fine but the bedroom was poor, it had what seemed to be kids bunk beds that looked far smaller and less comfy than our fishing beds which is exactly why we never ended up even using them.

Were you happy with them?

No. As I say kitchen and bathroom fine but I was looking forward to having a night off fishing and a decent night sleep mid week but seeing the bedroom made me stay in bivvy instead.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

After the shocking fishing and the effort and money spent just to catch one 20lb fish over 7 days was just an absolutely sole destroying experience and so no I wouldn't recommend. :note, Richard the baliff was really helpful and tried everything in his power to advise us and help us catch and he could have done no more, I understand its not his fault.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes. Angling lines was easy to book, easy to understand and log into customer area, easy to make payments. Angling lines was really good.

General Comments:

Holiday a complete disaster, so much so it's made me want to completely give up on carp fishing, Baliff very helpful and friendly but even with his advice we still had very poor fishing. Very disappointed. *Angling Lines note* We’re really sorry you had a tough week’s fishing and fully understand the frustration of this. Just to note the bunk beds are standard single bed size - 6’3 x 3ft and these are pictured on the website under 'accommodation photos'.

Tough week. Weather all over the place - from torrential rain to ridiculous heat, high 30's. Still managed to winkle a few out. Good to see Richard again, helpful as always.

We all had a greats week fishing. The bailiff is a very nice guy who told us everything about the lake, nothing too much trouble.
