We had 10 fish including 1 common, 1 Zip Linear and 8 mirror carp. All fish were in pristine condition ranging from 27lb to 40lb.

We used tiger nuts and fake maize.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were great. We arrived to 2 days of storms so used the garage to set up and store our luggage which was a great bonus.

Yes, we are big fans of Mystique and would imagine families would enjoy themselves there.

Yes, I have used Angling Lines 3 times and each time no issues.

General Comments:

Apart from the storm that greeted us we had a really good time and quickly got used to our home for the week. Michael gave us a lot of useful information and tips for his lake. We took the food package which was a full cooked breakfast and a selection of really nice meals. Overall good value for money.

We had 16 fish in all 2 over 40lbs the rest between 35-37 lbs

Were the facilities what you expected?

Over all the facilities were good. I hadn't realised people would also be in the neighbouring house, so it was a little less tranquil, but the lake was ours in its entirety otherwise.

Yes, we made best use of them.

Hard weeks fishing due to the hot weather but managed 6 fish. 12lb, 22lb, 29lb, 29lb, 31lb & 36lb

Listen to Mick the owner as he knows the best spots to fish & the best bait to use.

Facilities were better than we imagined. Accommodation & outside seating areas were great, the hot tub & pool was an added bonus especially during the hot weather.

General Comments:

Mick the owner was brilliant, very knowledgeable, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him.
There is the red lion pub down the road, supermarkets within 15 minutes & a McDonald’s less than 20 minutes drive which made the 12 year old happy!
Special mention to max the dog who mick kindly let us adopt for the week.

Really slow fishing , 6 fish landed 1 lost, 3,27,29,30,32,32 ,time of year,weather could of been contributing factor or we was rubbish at angling haha

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Plastics popped up, real bait was stripped by the biggest crays I've ever come across 6" mark ...arma mesh didn't stop them , fish didn't show until the last night and put on a full dolphin show, crays liked the fishy bait and there's a lot of them ,plenty of silvers too

Were the facilities what you expected?

Property,lake and grounds are well kept , Unfortunately it must be fly season and we killed 100s in main living space of property with STICKY STRIPS,(must have) , hot tub was good but I've had some ear ache about pool from family and kids as it was broken and (pool was no.1 on list of must have bringing family) Unfortunately it could not be repaired in time for us to use and remained somewhat green.

Unfortunately as it stands no ...but was made aware a new pool is happening , fishing can be hard at times so can't be helped.

General Comments:

The owner was away for our holiday who's usually on site I believe and people speak highly of him and I get it , we met him the last morning and seemed a knowledgeable guy who I get the feeling would of made our trip feel different for the better ....and get the feeling he'd of got any problems sorted ?
