General Comments:
we usually fish laroussi but decided to have a go on old oaks this year for the big common the weather was against us from the start how ever careful baiting and tactics finally got them going, the one thing i will say is at old oaks you will be snag fishing so pls plan for this and use strong safe tackle and fish locked up or they will get you in a tree/snag the fish are growing really well mehdi has created anouther laroussi with some real monsters in the near future no doubt

Details of your catches:
We didn't catch anything, 4 anglers, 12 rods and not a thing.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Keeping warm in the bivvy, but apart from that tried about every tactic you could think of, and none worked.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes
Were you happy with them?
They are in need of attention, cabin doors don't fit, the paddling pool at the gate was most unwelcome and bushes need cutting back
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, but with reservations, small water, limited number of pegs, could be good with the right people and a nightmare with the wrong.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Of course
General Comments:
Water temp was 4 deg or below, so we were never going to catch.
The snags on the no-fishing bank look really tasty and not a long cast, but when the fish are in there it ain't gonna be easy to get them out.

Details of your catches:
Only 1 fish caught, by unconventional method. 46lb mirror.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fished small baits, boilies and particles to far margins and centre of lake. But fish caught was taken on a lure. Yes you heard right, a lure.

General Comments:
Fishing was hard as we had some bad frost's, down to -6. Still fish moving , but not interested in feeding much. I took along a small abu bait casting outfit for a bit of fun if the fishing was slow. Caught a small jack pike. Changed to a small red and white jig head and hooked up first cast into something big, which i first thought was i massive pike. Then thought it was pulling back too much for a pike and thought maybe its one of the cats. I was well sup prised to see its was a mirror carp when i got it to the surface. The jig must have landed right in front of it on the bottom , as as soon as i started to retrieve it it went tight. I had never heard of this happening before, but when mehdi came to take photos , he said he had heard of it before but not with a fish of this size. Its a first for me and will probably never happen again. Bloody amazing.
