Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We fished peg 3 & 4 with peg 3 boating out in front of peg 1,2 & 3 picking up lots of fish in open water. Peg 4 fishing peg 4 & 5 picking up fish in open water and tight to the far margins. We fished boilies over pellet with some hemp thrown in too.

Great lake, great fish, Medhi top bloke left us to it the whole week... couldn't have asked for more as 2 new pbs obtained ....

Our tally of fish is 4 20s 19 30s 16 40s 1 60lb 1oz new lake record common 1 grass carp 31lb 5 oz and one of the the catfish which mehdi would estimate to be between 60 & 70 lb.

Approx 30 fish, lots of 30's/40's to 48. Average 38lb-ish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Far margin as close to snags as you dare. Spread out as best you can as fish find safe areas easily. We were 3 and started on pegs 2/3/4, but fish holed up in quiet areas. Changed to 1/3/5 and fishing improved for everyone.

Details of your catches:

The fishing was hard going at times but we finished up with a dozen fish between us. I have been to old oaks before and would return some time in the future. Mehdi is a great host and the fascilities whilst not five star luxury are more than good enough for a venue of this type.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Alot of people fish very close to the snags on this venue but if you do you will lose alot of your fish which is not very clever in my view and not needed. The fish are very pressured in the obvious snaggy areas and do not give themselves up easily. Do something different and you will catch, we found it best to use a quality bait and put plenty in for them.

A good venue that has some excellent fish in it. Used to be a bit of a runs water but alot more challenging these days.
