General Comments:

A great venue, with a great host who basically left us to fish but was available whenever needed. All the fish were very healthy and all put up a great fight. The 40+ common just put the icing on it! Highly recommended

General Comments:

We had a very difficult week to fish as the weather was 30+ for most of the days. We did however have a few runs during the days in the heat. I would advise using the baitboat as the far bank is where all the action happened. Also backleads are advisable, the fish in Old Oaks are the hardest fighting we've ever played. It was fantastic but they take you all over your swim so if you backlead you don't have to reel the rods in each time. The facilities are fantastic and it is also worth mentioning there is a huge supermarket 5 minutes drive away which was a godsend - if only sometimes for the air conditioning to get out of the intense heat. Poisson Chat were present in the lake and although they were a little bit annoying they didn't cause too many problems. We had a great week all in all and Medhi was a great host. On the last morning we had the added bonus of catching the big yellow catfish which took 2 hours to land. An immense and unexpected battle.

On arrival found out that the fish had just started to spawn, hence not many caught, and very hot every day
