Finally our anglers have arrived and here is the first catch report of the year, great result despite the heavy cold rain:

Arnie, 11th Aug
Sadly we have to announce the passing of Arnie, the largest mirror carp in the lake, at 80lb. He is the only recent death, so we can safely presume natural causes. Of course this is a part of running any fishery, but sad none the less, and we know many of you will have been hoping to land him on your trip.
Villefond remains what we would class as a big fish water with numerous 40lb carp, 10 known 50lb+ carp and four known 60lb+ carp – which, in an 8 acre lake, is impressive and testament to the great conditions and water quality it posesses.
For the record, the largest known residents are now a mirror at 65lb and a common at 65lb.
