Great fishing, beautiful lake and place

Details of your catches:

We had a total of 70 fish about 6 over 30 lbs. This is a bit of a false picture as over 50 of these fish and all the 30 lbs came out of just two swims in fact of the 4 people in these swims, 1 caught 16 fish, 1 caught 14 fish, 1 caught 11 fish and 1 caught 9 fish. As you can image this left the rest of us in the other swims very frustrated.

The use of bollies was the best approach, we tried particles but to no effect

Were the facilities what you expected?

The pictures on the Internet were a bit flattering. The toilet is so small you have to drop you trousers before you close the door. The shower is adequate but again small. The fridge and freezer were a good size for all the food and bait.

Were you happy with them?

The fridge and freezer were good but the toilet and shower were on the small side

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Maybe but not without a clear warning of the potential problems.

Yes, but I would suggest that they ask a lot more questions before booking so that there is a clearer understanding of the lake and the services.

General Comments:

We were of the impression that the owner would show us around and give some general information about the lake, and give us some insight into how the lake was fishing. This never happened.

General Comments:

Good lake with adequate facilities. Fishing was hard for our visit but by the end of the week the group had a good amount of fish. I would come back.

Details of your catches:

I haven't the exact catch details to hand, but highlights are Mirror 37, Common 37+30, 4 Sturgeon to big to fit in a 4ft weigh sling! and numerous 20's and high doubles. It was a quite week by all accounts, fish looked like they had other things on their mind than feeding.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Most fish came at night/dawn dusk, very quite in day, unless stalking. Lots of opportunity to stalk at this venue, don't sit behind silent buzzers, get off your bums and go look for them! Lots of boilies, pellets just bring the bream.

Yes, as described, hot shower, lots of hot water, freezer fridge WC, as it says on the tin.

Certainly, its a drive and survive but with enough amenities to make it comfortable without feeling like your being babysat.
