Yes everything was there, ie shower wc and fridge/freezers

Were you happy with them?

Shower and wc were very small. They worked as they should but the shower area floor wasn't ideal as the shower leaked onto the stainless steel floor and it was hard to dry off.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes had a good time there.

Yes I'm happy with angling lines.

A variety worked across the lake, cell waiters caught the most, 16ft zigs worked in peg 11.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes as explained on Angling Lines website. The shower and toilet are small, but useable.
Plenty of freezer space with a chest freezer and 2x fridges.
Plenty of sockets for charging devices etc (take Euro plug adaptors)

Were you happy with them?

Yes nothing flash, just do the job for drive and survive.

Yes, would recommend trying to get on an exclusive booking week with people you know. We had an exclusive booking.

General Comments:

We had a great week and glad we got amongst some of the larger carp.

The sturgeon are a problem, when fishing many lines. The owner knows the big sturgeon is a problem and I got the impression he may do something with it. Owners meet us on the Saturday, sorted our pre ordered bait out and let us get on with setting up. They visited the lake on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to check on us and to see if we would like more bait etc.

No problem at all with rats like previous feedbacks have mentioned.

Tabac and supermarket local (5mins) from the lake.

Details of your catches:

Between 9 anglers we caught some mirror carp, commons and Grass carp. Also sturgeon. Some didn't catch, this was mainly due to the weather nothing be ideal on the run up up to the trip. Quite cold at times, fish shoaled up in the middle. Caught a few and missed a few in the bays by peg 3 and 4.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We were very sparse with the bait, as we were aware of groups before overbaiting. Ronnie rigs worked well, the fish just weren't on it. When the fish are on it, I think all tactics will catch. Stalk the bays, stay on your rod, they love the snags.

Facilities were fine.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Defo recommend, even though our overall catch wasn't great. Go when the weather has been consistent for a few weeks. Middle of May onwards, watch for spawning though.

Angling Lines is a very good way of booking places to spread the cost. We have already booked 2024 and are looking at 2025.

General Comments:

Love the whole booking system and the venues we have been to so far.


Facilities where sound, shower was hot, electric to charge things. Plenty of fridge/freezer space. Didn't have any issues with rats etc.
The main issue was the sturgeon it can wipe out all rods, especially if it's snapped off. Personally think they should be removed.

Owners were great, came round every couple of days if you want bait etc.

Overall a good venue, just not great conditions, but that's fishing.
