Details of your catches:
13 fish 1 x 60lbs 6 x between 40 to 47 lbs 6 x between 30 to 35lbs
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
A range of baits from bottom to pop up boilies wrapped in armourgard to tiger nuts and imitation corn etc. Most of the fish came from distance that said mid water produced as well. Fish came at all times but found the night was less productive. Weather was changeable but no rain, fish were showing to most areas except the bay nearest the car park. Not one best peg as fish came from most areas, pike were a problem taking back leads and also whilst retrieving lines. Fish were in great condition and hard fighting. A few fish were lost as suspect crayfish were damaging terminal line whilst attempting to get at baits. Never seen so many crayfish but tigernuts were seemed to be left alone. For me I fished mini stiff hinged pop ups so cant comment really on bottom rigs although some fishes were caught on them but pop ups were the main rigs. Lake bottom is hard to fine silt, silk weed in some areas but not a problem.
Were the facilities what you expected?
A bit more basic than we expected, a thunder box in the wood which was ok in desperation but a trip to the shower/toilet block was drive back out of the car park down the road turn towards the farm, up a track which took form leaving your peg to arrival of 15 minutes !!! Shower was ok, toilet ok, charging point and fridge adequate. The owner/bailiff was great and although we never had any problems I’m sure he would have helped out.

Overall the facilities were just about ok that said the biggest moan we had was the walk from the car park to the pegs 1-4 were hazardous and not for less able anglers. The gear has to be barrowed along an assault course track not for the faint hearted and a real ankle breaker. I would guess at least a 400 yd distance to peg 1, if you arrive safely well done. Do not expect the swims to be angler friendly, mud bank which slopes very unevenly to the waters edge which is at least 2 foot down, take waders/wellies etc to retrieve bait boats fish landing and returns. It didn’t rain whilst we were there but would expect the banks to be as treacherous as ice.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Definitely would recommend to others but would warn of the bank and walk assault course to swims.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
I always travel with angling lines and never had a problem, so highly recommend them to anyone.
General Comments:
Brilliant lake, great owner bailiff but could be so much better if swim banks and track to them was sorted out, the amenities whilst adequate are too far away for my liking but that said I would go back albeit with someone to carry my gear !!!!

Details of your catches:
42lb was the only carp out not surprising due to the very high temperatures and we still felt the fish might be coming off the back of spawning.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Keeping cool ! Carp just not interested due to the heat. Carp came out on the last day!
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. good as described
Were you happy with them?

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, but would like to go perhaps in Sept. The exceptional heatwave affected it badly for our week.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. Very good.
