Pop Up’s gave the highest bite indicators but listening to the owner is a must as he is very knowledgeable on the lake and its features and locations which work best.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were amazing for the secluded peaceful location and owner could not of been more helpful.

Were you happy with them?

Very happy with facilities and help from owner who noticed we only had small batteries for our heaters so brought down big 130-200ah batteries which saved us!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit a lake in France. Easy to find, secluded from the town but can drive to the supermarket in either direction in under 10 minutes

Definitely, very helpful and all information was provided and as advertised

General Comments:

The venue is very tidy, can tell the owner is proud to have the lake and is nice to see the owner at the venue giving advice and being supportive. *Angling Lines note* Thank you so much for your feedback and kind words, we appreciate how truly tough the conditions were on your week with temperatures plummeting.

Fishing was patchy, but to be expected for November. We caught carp to just under 30lbs.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tactics wise, yellow pop ups were taking the majority of the fish. Fished over a bed of particles.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are really good. Thomas (Lake Owner) has put a lot of thought and consideration into the design and layout of the 'open plan lodge'. Being an angler himself he fully understands the anglers needs. The lodge is a great base for the fishery, and sharing this on a lake exclusive booking makes for a great venue to sit, eat and socialize and keep out of the weather.

Were you happy with them?

Great venue, managed by a really attentive lake owner. Thomas wants anglers to enjoy the venue and importantly, catch fish. He has a wealth of fishing knowledge and available to support with advice.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Would absolutely recommend this lake, and will be returning again in 2026. Out and about Fresnay is a nice town to visit with a local Street Market a couple of times a week.

General Comments:

We have been to this venue before and met Thomas and we were looking forward to going back, Thomas has kept in touch since we went in April and makes your stay more than comfortable, nothing is to much trouble.
