Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We found fishing into the snags with orange and red pop ups on ronnies did well. Definitely use the house pellet in 8m there are lots of roach ect in the lake. Feeding on the pellet seemed to grab the carps attention, we used krill active boilies that worked well, we also caught in the deeper water in open water.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities where everything you would expect from a drive and survive package, the compost toilets where clean and tidy behind the swims

Were you happy with them?

We were luck enough to have the lake to ourselves, so didn't have to share the freezer and fridge which where a bit on the small size for the number of anglers expected to share them.

General Comments:

Emeraude is a fantastic lake for the experienced angler, you have to work for your catches but very rewarding. I fished peg 3 and my mate peg 4, I did think that peg 3 was more of a one man swim, would not have liked to share the water with another angler. I did move on the Wednesday into peg 2 that controls a lot of water for 2 anglers, was able to move after the anglers that where booked on didn't turn up. We used the boats that were provided but hired the electric motors which where great for rig placement and baiting up

In total we had 17 fish between the 4 of us. 8 of the 17 were 30 plus with the largest being just under 40

Fish came to a variety of rigs all which were a variation of the Ronnie rig and German rig.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were very good and exactly what was expected. Very well kept fishery which is a credit to the owner.

General Comments:

Unfortunately the week we arrived, the fish were showing signs of spawning. TBH, we were lucky to catch any at all because by the middle of the week, the fish had totally turned off as had other things on their mind. Emeraude is a lovely venue and we particularly liked the fact that it had a really good depth of water. We’d love to return at a different time of the year as these fish are definitely catchable and there are crackers to be caught. We saw them!!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Margin was very good and pink popup or pink/orange wafter were the best. Spinner rigs and multi combis. Pellet and boilies are very good and making mixes with goo is also the same. Dry/ wet are both good mixes.

Nice lake, swim 2 is more difficult than the rest but is great if you can find them

Carp plenty 20 up to 46lb, pike caught on winding in.
Superb tench specimen.

Fish margin and far out open water, baits bug to nut flavoured
