Details of your catches:
We were both on peg 1. I had 7 carp and my friend had 2 . The biggest was a mirror at 34lb. The smallest was a stunning 20lb koi. This was disappointing as peg 2 fished really well, the angler there had a 63lber, a 58lber and several forties!
All fish in perfect condition.
The weather was atrocious, torrential rain for the whole week.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We lost half a days fishing as we set off to buy Boom rigs which the bailiff said are obligatory on this lake.
All carp were caught off the far bank, using a sticky baits snowman popup. We fished 3ft off the bank.
Pop up bright white sticky bait snowman. I fished the far bank 3ft out.
*Angling Lines comment* We have since discussed this feedback with the customer and lake owner - things were lost in translation regarding rigs. To clarify, the lake rules are correct as shown on this venue page.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. Main facilities were very good. The compost toilets slightly less so!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, absolutely. We are thinking of rebooking here in 2025. Though I'll be heading for peg 2!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, it's a great lake. The owner and bailiff were really good. Very helpful even though they spoke only a little English. We used a translator on the phone.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes we do. We always get help if we need it. When we ring someone always answers and are really friendly and helpful. We use you a lot.
General Comments:
Plenty of features, but our fish caught mainly on far bank.

Details of your catches:
20 carp up to 53lb inc 2. 40s
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Sticking to baited areas. Baited areas with Corn and boilies pellets.
All seemed to work inc Wafters pop ups. And fake corn. But being patient, leaving rods upto 48 hrs if needed. Far margins next to snags seemed to be best
Were the facilities what you expected?
Freezer very small. No fridge, but Ballif Clemente’s let us use his one.
Shower fine and good charging facilities fair walk to them thou. As the lake is fairly new to the holiday aspect for English this is all work in progress as a shop on site for bait etc and large fridge etc is soon to be added

General Comments:
The lake is very well run and is very strict on rules which is good. They care about the fish and rules are rules. I’ve been to loads of French lakes. And this is up there. Not easy but work hard rewards will come be patient and get to know the lake fish to the far snags on swim one locked up your see the benefits. Other swims we saw crashing mainly on far margin to swims 3 4 some huge fish
I would defo recommend the lake and clement the Ballif is very accommodating to all your questions and needs. I will return prob in a year or so as already got a couple trips booked so my message to anyone thinking of going here. Do it. Village is 5 mins away with everything your need Any negatives. Not really as I know it’s new to English and any little things will be in place if anyone goes in the near future. I reckon it will kick out some big fish by early winter can’t complain with 2 40s and a fifty.

Details of your catches:
My son caught 2 and I (Roy) lost 6 in the snags... We fished swim 3. Biggest was a 40lb and a 42lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The fish were feeding but it was around 36 degrees all week.
We learned a lot in that week. We have booked to go back in 2024.
I'd say use/take pellets. The lakes salmon based pellets, really dark ones. Use pink pop ups and fish around the posts. The bailiff says his favourite swim is swim 5. He says there are less fish caught there but you tend to get the biggest!
Snags are a big part of this lake and you really have to be on your rods and walk backwards to get them away from the snags.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The only disappointing thing was the power, it was in the facilities but not on our swim.
We loved the bailiff (Clermont) he lives on site, and is really helpful, all round a great guy. He was pedantic re the parking of vehicles and what you were using as rigs. He checked them regularly. So make sure you stick to the rules.
Were you happy with them?
Clean but limited freezer space. Luckily there is a SuperU supermarket just down the road.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes. of course I've booked again for 2024!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
YES. All your staff are really nice and very helpful :-)
