Details of your catches:

25 carp between 18 and 42lb and a few bream

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Yellow pop ups worked well in margins. Mainline Link worked well too.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Basic but clean. Fridge and freezer was a bit tight for 8 of us but we managed.

Were you happy with them?

Overall yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

The swims are lovely and big. Well spaced with plenty of water for each. Every swim has a picnic table which is a nice touch and they all have a row boat which is necessary. The lake itself is in a wild kind of setting and really feels natural. The down side of this is the water itself also has the associated weed and snags.
During our visit the water levels were very high. This meant that what were once overhanging trees were actually horrific snags. Some trees stretching 10 metres or more into the lake meaning the carp just hold up in the margins where it is almost unfishable in places. Weed is also quite prolific. The rules mandate barbless hooks and for good reason as without them, there would probably be issues with tethered fish as the snags are savage!
There were a couple of dead and rotting fish in the water but they were quickly removed by the bailiff once we pointed them out.
Clement, the bailiff is certainly very knowledgeable about how to fish the lake and shares his tips if needed.

Details of your catches:

Between the two of us that were fishing we lost 9 fish and caught one carp

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Were the facilities what you expected?

The shower block was as expected, just a bit of a walking distance

Were you happy with them?

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes if they change 1 of the rules

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

The pond is a nice well maintained pond as expected and tucked away, the only thing that I think that should be changed is the rules on the hooks as its barbless only and we lost 9 fish due to that. In my opinion they should change it so you can at least use microbarbed hooks so you are not losing the fish, I run a fishery myself and we let people use microbarbed hooks, it would be a lot better if people were aloud to use barbed hooks so they have a better chance of bagging the fish they hook

Details of your catches:

There was some lovely carp caught during our week at Emeraude. We had 7 carp to mid 40

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Baiting light, tight to the snags in the margins. Strong tackle and using the boat to find good areas.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were basic but had a hot shower, fresh water and lovable charging stations. Fridge and freezer also available so had everything you need for a weeks fishing.

Were you happy with them?

Yes good facilities, bring flip flops or crocs for the shower.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely

General Comments:

Details of your catches:

We were both on peg 1. I had 7 carp and my friend had 2 . The biggest was a mirror at 34lb. The smallest was a stunning 20lb koi. This was disappointing as peg 2 fished really well, the angler there had a 63lber, a 58lber and several forties!
All fish in perfect condition.
The weather was atrocious, torrential rain for the whole week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We lost half a days fishing as we set off to buy Boom rigs which the bailiff said are obligatory on this lake.
All carp were caught off the far bank, using a sticky baits snowman popup. We fished 3ft off the bank.
Pop up bright white sticky bait snowman. I fished the far bank 3ft out.
*Angling Lines comment* We have since discussed this feedback with the customer and lake owner - things were lost in translation regarding rigs. To clarify, the lake rules are correct as shown on this venue page.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Main facilities were very good. The compost toilets slightly less so!

Were you happy with them?

Yes, absolutely. We are thinking of rebooking here in 2025. Though I'll be heading for peg 2!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, it's a great lake. The owner and bailiff were really good. Very helpful even though they spoke only a little English. We used a translator on the phone.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes we do. We always get help if we need it. When we ring someone always answers and are really friendly and helpful. We use you a lot.

General Comments:

Plenty of features, but our fish caught mainly on far bank.
