Details of your catches:

In total we caught about 35 carp. 43lb was the biggest, with a couple more 40's after that. We had a couple of 20lb'ers during the week but overall you knew they were going to be 30lb+. My friend broke his PB three times in a row!

Fish were all in very good condition. Lost a lot of fish too.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Were the facilities what you expected?

We hired the electric engines for the boats, happy with the boats and engines. The dry toilets behind the swims were a really good addition. Happy with the main facilities block, but note that they're quite a long way from swims 3 and 4.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes. We would return tomorrow if we could.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Owner was very good and friendly. For larger carp you were required to take photos in the water. In general a really nice place. Supermarkets close by. Mats and tripods supplied were good, slings were a bit tired but ok.

Details of your catches:

25 carp between 18 and 42lb and a few bream

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Yellow pop ups worked well in margins. Mainline Link worked well too.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Basic but clean. Fridge and freezer was a bit tight for 8 of us but we managed.

Were you happy with them?

Overall yes.

No

General Comments:

The swims are lovely and big. Well spaced with plenty of water for each. Every swim has a picnic table which is a nice touch and they all have a row boat which is necessary. The lake itself is in a wild kind of setting and really feels natural. The down side of this is the water itself also has the associated weed and snags.
During our visit the water levels were very high. This meant that what were once overhanging trees were actually horrific snags. Some trees stretching 10 metres or more into the lake meaning the carp just hold up in the margins where it is almost unfishable in places. Weed is also quite prolific. The rules mandate barbless hooks and for good reason as without them, there would probably be issues with tethered fish as the snags are savage!
There were a couple of dead and rotting fish in the water but they were quickly removed by the bailiff once we pointed them out.
Clement, the bailiff is certainly very knowledgeable about how to fish the lake and shares his tips if needed.

Details of your catches:

Between the two of us that were fishing we lost 9 fish and caught one carp

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Were the facilities what you expected?

The shower block was as expected, just a bit of a walking distance

Were you happy with them?

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes if they change 1 of the rules

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

The pond is a nice well maintained pond as expected and tucked away, the only thing that I think that should be changed is the rules on the hooks as its barbless only and we lost 9 fish due to that. In my opinion they should change it so you can at least use microbarbed hooks so you are not losing the fish, I run a fishery myself and we let people use microbarbed hooks, it would be a lot better if people were aloud to use barbed hooks so they have a better chance of bagging the fish they hook

Details of your catches:

There was some lovely carp caught during our week at Emeraude. We had 7 carp to mid 40

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Baiting light, tight to the snags in the margins. Strong tackle and using the boat to find good areas.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were basic but had a hot shower, fresh water and lovable charging stations. Fridge and freezer also available so had everything you need for a weeks fishing.

Were you happy with them?

Yes good facilities, bring flip flops or crocs for the shower.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely
