Details of your catches:
61 super fit hard fighting Carp to 43lb, many big 30s and a few Exocet Grassies
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We used the ‘house boilie’ the pellet Mark uses to support the fish during the winter months. the best method seemed to be fishing just off a good bed of bait.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Much better
Were you happy with them?
Very happy. We had car trouble at the end of the week, flat battery due to too many boat battery charges. In spite of the fact that Mark manages 3 or 4 other waters and of course Saturday is the busiest day, he came to the rescue, top man Mark thanks

General Comments:
Jonchery 7 is a mystery it’s quite a small lake, approximately 5 acres, it is also quite shallow less than a metre in the main. After a few hours fishing it was very clear that it holds a phenomenal head of super fit hard fighting big Carp. Hence the mystery how can a water of this volume hold this head a fish in super condition? Mark the fishery manager explained, Jonchery is a small part of a massive water control system for the whole of the river Marne and the champagne region. Mark can control water flow through the lake by tens of thousands of gallons a minute. This inflow of fresh oxygenated water supports the large head of fish. As an exclusive lake you can bivvi up anywhere, we opted for the large made-up peg at the stockpond end, this peg gives access to all the lake. Carp were spawning along the right hand margin so we concentrated on the far margin and the left hand end of the lake. We were into carp right from the start, we had bought 10k of the ‘house boilie’ each and a sack of the pellet Mark uses to support the fish during the winter months between us, the catch rate soon demanded more bait. The weather conditions were quite bad, some very cold nights and torrential rain, on most venues this would be a downer but a J7 the fish kept coming. The only concession to the conditions was we chose to wind in on three nights to try and dry off and get some rest. By mid-week the spawning had stopped we could fish all the lake. Meals are available at J7 we opted for evening meals only, these were excellent and brought to the peg what more could you ask!!! Our tally was 61Carp to 43lb many high 30s and a few Exocet Grassies, by the end of the week we were looking forward to a rest on our second venue Brocard, but that’s another story.

General Comments:
2nd year at Jonchery 7, not as good fish wise as last year due to North east wind and previous week's anglers had a good catch, had food package but not impressed with price, advertised as £110 on website but charged 150 euros not impressed with inflated exchange rate. *Angling Lines note* We are sorry for the mistake on the website, we were unaware the price had changed. We have now corrected this.
