Looking at previous reports I really cannot see where we went wrong. Tried various tactics and it just wouldn't produce. The days were very hot and the nights were very cold so we put it down to this. We tried far margins, close margins, open water, snowman, wafter, long and short rigs.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Extremely hard week for swim 1 and 2, the mirror was caught on a wafter to the far margin. Swim 3 mainly fished to the rope and had great success.

Yes I would, fishing is fishing, a bad week should not discourage other anglers coming here, I would just recommend a visit in September instead.

Yes, we already have another trip booked.

General Comments:

We weren't greatly pleased with the food package, especially breakfast. The facilities there are very good so i would suggest cooking your own.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The shower facilities were not good they are tired and very dirty.
Swim 1 and 2 are not double swims. We had two people in swim one and it wasn't good.

The lake is very nice. The trees surrounding swim 1 and 2 need to be maintained to a better standard.

I would 100% recommend Angling Lines to friends. It was easy to book. I was kept up to date when there were changes to ferry times. We had to leave a day early due to a family issue at home. Angling Lines responded so quickly contacting P&O changing our ferry times. Superb communication.

General Comments:

Very happy with Angling Lines. La Fonte is a nice lake but some of the facilities and swim sizes let the place down.

53 carp in total. The biggest known common and mirror fell to Lee at 56.02 common and 51.10 mirror (top rod)

Use boillies only
Hard hook bait to get past the crayfish

Yes plenty of freezer and fridge space. I would recommend the food package, Jean-jack is a excellent chef
