Peg 1 started off with regular bites and slower towards end of the week.
Peg 3 struggled from the off due to shallow water and really cold nights but ended up with a few decent ones and ended the week with some on last night.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Nutty boilies, tiger nuts and house pellet seemed to do the best. We all took fish meal and nutty but didn’t get many on the fishmeal approach. Wafters and snowman hookbaits did the best.
Very rocky and snaggy close far margins so best to come back away from them slightly.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Kitchen could do with an update but we didn’t really use it due to getting the food package.
Bait fridge and freezer area is fine, there was an issue with smell from the kitchen drainage which we spoke to Phillipe about.
Toilet and shower are great.
Jean Jaques food package is well worth the money and he tries to cater to your suggestions if there is anything you’d like.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, the kitchen is being fully renovated for the 2022 season.

Details of your catches:
All 3 pegs produced fish.
Peg 1 (2 anglers) produced 23 carp.
Peg 2 (1 angler) produced 17 Carp.
Peg 3 (2 anglers) produced a massive figure of 58 carp.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
All hook bait types produced fish, this included all flavours, sizes and colours. Using wafters, pop ups and normal boiles. 15mm-20mm
I would highly recommend the use of a bait boat, not necessarily to put bait out (as this can be done easily by walking around the lake if you decide to fish the far banks) but because i found it just too far to cast to my chosen swims.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. This is our syndicates 3rd visit to the La Fonte lake and we already knew what to expect. The site has a cabin area which is great for a social.
Were you happy with them?
On the whole, very much so. A couple of slight annoyances, one was the Kitchen area, this was mentioned in my 2019 feedback. The kitchen needs a deep clean and some work tops want replacing. The oven took ages to warm up and one of the hobs didn't work at all.
Also when we last fished La Fonte there was a dedicated bait freezer. We now have a fridge/freezer which just wasn't large enough. Even by using the kitchen area freezer we were still short of space for our boilies.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we have discussed with the owner and the kitchen will be getting updated for the 2022 season. There is also now a new freezer for bait.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes. La Fonte, Normandy is a beautiful region of France and the fishery is set in a secluded area with breathtaking views.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. The Lake produced 98 carp, 10 bream, 1 pike and a roach. We went there to fish and we were not disappointed. Personal bests were smashed. And a new syndicate species was also caught (grass carp). We'll definitely return in the future and I would recommend La Fonte to all carp anglers.
General Comments:
We met Phillipe (fishery owner) twice during twice during our week at La Fonte. Phillipe is a genuinely nice guy and is passionate about the fishery and his customers. Nothing seems too much trouble for him. I even had him land one of my fish. He also arranged for us to attend a pharmacy to have our Covid 19 test.

Details of your catches:
What a week! We had a total of 75 fish!! Every peg producing fish. Peg 1 was the steady all week with 18 fish from 21lb to 43lb. Peg 2 was a little slower with 14 fish with fish from 23lb to a mega looking common at 53.6. Peg 3 was the double swim and the was 43 fish caught from the only lower double we had at 10.6 to 43lb common.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Everyone had success with different size baits. Peg 1 majority of the fish came from 3/4 rod length out on Ronnie rigs, peg 2 was the normal hair rig with 20mm as hookbait. Peg 3 we fished to the far bank on either slip D rigs or kd rigs on 20mm . The bait we used was hexbaits
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes it was our second time so no surprises.
Were you happy with them?
Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

General Comments:
Philippe the owner was very helpful booking our Covid tests for us. Jean Jacques evening meals were fantastic. The kitchen could do with an update but it does the job and to be fair we weren’t doing the cooking in there anyway. The wash room was fine and the shower was nice and hot. I spoke to Philippe about the pegs that just need some maintenance on, like making pegs 1/2 bigger and dropping the rope and rails for better casting.
