Between the just 2 of us we caught 69 fish, commons and mirrors from 15lb to 37lb. We had 12 over 30lb and lots of late 20s.
Only 3 fish below 20lb.

Fishing days only, we stayed in the gite next door for 3 nights which was very cozy with log burner.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bottom baits 20mm sticky vortex and tutti fruity 20mm. Don't over complicate the rigs , a bait boat made all the difference feeding and dropping baits 1 meter off the far banks. Peg 3 and 1 were brilliant.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Excellent facilities, Joanne and her husband were brilliant hosts.
Everything was perfect, we were very lucky the weather all week was perfect and even going from 24 degrees in the the day to 1 degrees at night didn't put the fish off.

Were you happy with them?

Very happy with everything

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would definitely recommend La Fonte , for us it was peaceful and very relaxing

38 carp caught from 16lb to 45lb plus 1 catfish 66lb approx

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Most carp caught at night or early morning from margins and also the middle of the lake. Fish were in very good condition

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes all in good working order. The kitchen was well kitted out the shower good and clean we even had wifi, but only close to the house

General Comments:

Philip the owner is a great character to chat to. Joanne the house keeper was very helpful, her cooking is excellent and she even offered to go shopping for us. The lake is in a quite rural spot but good shops only 10 mins away.

Steve 16 fish and 1 cat at 70 chris 25 fish and the big common at 47 pound

General Comments:

Try to target the few big fish in the lake this time as previous years needed to have a holiday when I got home lots of mid 20 fish some very nice mid thirties

Singles or double didn't need a lot of bait but we all fished different baits and all done well from fruity to sweet to fish all worked well

Facilities were great, a lot and couldn't fault a thing

Yes the water was nice and cold to help us battle the 36c heat

There was a few errors with the crossing detail, which resulted in us having to leave at silly o'clock to then travel on ferry rather that train, so always double check the details before the day you leave. But Angling Lines did act fast and manage to sort it out last thing on Friday.

General Comments:

This was mine and a few others first trip to France and an amazing one at that!

From the minute we arrived and met Joanne she couldn't do enough to help us. We took the food package and I would never think twice about it again, even though Joanne has set very high standard for others in the future to match.

As for the fishing was extremely busy in the mornings and evening but very quiet at the peak of the heat and at night But we had some great fish out from low doubles to 39.5.

So overall give this venue my thumbs up 👍 And Would definitely like to go back in the future
