We had a good haul, a mix of weights 55lb 2oz being the biggest, had 8 x 40's out around 25 x 30's and a few 20's

General Comments:

We had the full food package which was excellent value. Our group had 1 who had certain dietary needs which the cook was happy to accommodate.

2 anglers in swim 1 and 2 anglers in swim 3. Swim 1, 9 carp and swim 3, 10 carp. Total of 19 between us, biggest 41lb. 3x40’s, 8x30’s, 6x20’s and 2 doubles.

Tiger nuts and wafters as hook baits, crayfish were present

The venue was quite run down when you compared it to pictures from its heyday, originally had swims on both banks and a stalking section in what is now out of bounds!

They were functional and plenty of hot water for showering

General Comments:

Current and up to date pictures of facilities and the venues would give us a better idea of what we’re getting. The peace and quiet was spoiled by locals using an angle grinder to cut metal at 1.00 am on two consecutive nights, and tree surgeons destroying a forest into a shredder (whole tree trunks) filling several articulated lorries from 8.00am until 12.30 midday on Friday!

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we will discuss with the owner. The old lake layout mentioned was many years ago now and we can confirm that all descriptions on our website and lake photos are taken since and correct. The facilities were renovated in early 2022 and the photos on our website of these facilities were taken after renovation.

General Comments:

What a week we had fished 17th sept to 24th the at la Fonte we had lots of fish biggest being a 60lb was young 1s 11th birthday while we was there an he caught fish up to 40lb all lads had caught couldn’t thank Phillipe the bailiff enough he was a gent few pics from our fishing trip.

Fished to the far margin anything between 2ft - 2 rod lengths from the bank. 24 fish caught from 8lb-47lb 8oz.

Best catch rate was yellow pop ups or corn topped baits.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower room needs a bit more TLC and a floor mat as it's at a low level and during the hotter months tiled floor was slippery due to condensation and humidity.
But worked fine.
We didn't use the kitchen to cook as had the food package.

Were you happy with them?

From a chef to a chef (la fonte) Jean Jaques asked me to give and send him some English ideas over to him so he can widen his English menu choice.
His food was tasty and we never went hungry.
But British being British some of our group are too traditional and not use to change or the way French cook certain items (eggs)? and I think it's hard to get hold of some English products.

General Comments:

Local supermarket only 5k or 8k up the road.
So quiet lovely surrounding.
Owner speaks pretty good English and is nice to.
Unless you speak French/advice from bailiffs explanations is pretty entertaining.
