Simple boilie tactics. Doubled up the baits and
Increased the hook size to try and single out the bigger fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Exceptional facilities. Clean and modern gite with everything you would need for your stay. Travelled with our wives who were over the moon with gite, hot tub and pool as well as the separate living area for those fishing. The videos and photos are good but when seen in person the facilities are definitely a wow factor. The village of Montpon was really pretty and had great amenities within a five minute drive. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and on hand if needed.

General Comments:

Several feedbacks have mentioned the smaller fish becoming a nuisance so I won’t add any more detail to that as lake owner is already aware with plans in place to resolve.

Yes, superb accomodation, very clean and tidy and had most things we needed.

Yes although bed a little hard but this may suit some people.

General Comments:

This venue has a lot of very small fish which need to be netted out to encourage the fish to grow to their full potential. The owners are fully aware of this and will be netting the lake soon. There is another gite on the property and if Anglers only book one then the other gite may be rented to other holiday makers. This could impact on how quiet the venue may be if others are present. This should be made aware on your site.

Details of your catches:

Fished 5 nights, and evenings once it had cooled down till around 9-10am.

15 singles mirrors and commons
24 doubles mostly commons
11 20s to 29lb mirrors and commons
3 30s - 31lb mirror, 32lb mirror, 33lb 5oz mirror

Lost around 10 fish mostly small fish with 3-4 better fish inc a good 30lb mirror 1 foot from the net.

The big fish just didn't feed. Despite the number of small fish i had a fantastic time catching

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I started off with maize hemp pellet crushed and whole boilies, the small fish were just prolific when landing a fish my boilie hook baits were battered my 22mms looked like 12mms.
I stopped using particles and pellet, i was putting out just boilie this made a huge difference to the fish size caught and the baits not being pecked at.

I ended up using double 22mm bottom baits, even tried triple 22mm bottom baits as single 18-22mms or pop ups were being taken by small fish.

Singles were still taking double 22mms.
The fish have huge mouths, are extremely greedy and have very soft mouths.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities exceeded our expectations, the main gite was spotless with everything we needed, the lake gite was stunning, being new and was lovely sitting with the family on the evening on the patio using the hot tub. The anglers kitchen and toilet are fantastic, a very nice touch using in the week, with a freezer and fridge with a great shower.

The pool area was just stunning, the wife and kids and I spent most the day in the pool to play and cool off, the building with shower sink and toiliet behind the pool was brilliant for the kids wanting the toilet constantly.

Were you happy with them?

Extremely so, we cant fault anything it exceeded our expections. The pool and grounds are just stunning.

Ive alreasy told most people i know about landes, while i was there a few people messaged me asking where i was and a few who have booked landes mesaaged me asking to send them pictures and vids and keep them informed how i got on.

Angling Lines are fantastic, this is my second time booking with angling lines, its very easy everytime ive contacted them they answer extremely quickly resolving or doing anything i need, im currently looking at booking another trip already.

General Comments:

Landes is stunning and such a beautiful place, tony and kim were such lovely people, they leave you alone to enjoy yoir holiday giving you your week of paradise but are on hand for anything you need.
We had a very long travel over 20 hours due to traffic and accidents the welcome food package was a saviour as we just wanted to have a look around, unpack and get some sleep.

The gites are stunning, the pool is amazing, the lake and grounds are breath taking, tony and kim are very passionate about landes - the grass, trees, bushes were all cut trimmed to perfection even the drive was raked to make it look brand new for your arrival.

The fishing was a struggle with the amount of small carp in the lake but tony informed me it will be netted this year removing all small fish with small fish sold to cover costs, fish put in the stock pond leaving the better fish in the lake with a top up of 30s and 40s. Once this has been done Landes will be perfect in every way. I'm very jealous of tony and kim with what they have its just stunning. They have done plenty of work to improve the venue with more work planned inc a play area and climbing frame for kids.
