Weather was very unsettled with mixed days and cold nights but still managed 18 carp to 45.8lb.

General Comments:

I just cannot fault this venue. The owners are lovely, the facilities are the best out there, the lake is beautiful and the grounds are a picture. We had some poor weather at the start of the trip but once it settled the fishing was great and the condition of the fish was very good. The trip down to the venue from Caen was an easy and pleasant drive on good roads and took about 6hrs. This may seem a long way to go but we thoroughly enjoyed the journey. This was my 19th fishing trip to France and in my opinion, this is (by a long way) the best venue I've come across.

Details of your catches:

2 anglers caught 60 carp totalling 1369lbs. Catch included 6 40lb+, 13 30lb+ & 18 20lb+ fish. 1 16lb koi in catch. All fish in fabulous condition and tested both skills and tackle.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Simple inline 2oz lead with size 4 hook & boilie on a hair. Delivered to fish at 150 yds by baitboat. Best baits were 20mm bloodworm
or Nutrabait Trigger boilers fished over a light bed of particles.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Absolutely and beyond! Accommodation very clean, comfortable and had everything required. Great storage room for gear and prep outside accommodation with separate toilet & shower.

Fantastic throughout - highly recommended.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Fabulous venue - fishing challenging but rewarding & certainly not a pushover. Suspect that a baitboat is essential.

Definitely - it’s a days drive to and from the venue but worth every hour.
