Some fresh news from Laroussi, 22nd Feb

SOME BIG FISH

Some good fish were caught last autumn. The best news is the sudden growth, probably explained by the catfish removal. Thanks again to Mr Howard Baynes for catching the last big remaining catfish which was the big female we wanted. It was only 2m long but with a huge girth, weighing 165 lbs! We also removed 30 catfish. We strongly think they are under control now but we need to keep to remove them.

John Allen was on the bank in august, and did well again, by catching the big Fully Scaled at 56lbs8oz and the Ghost Common at 56lbs. 

Andy Pritchard was on the same peg two months later, for another great week and landed again that stunning fully scaled fish at 64lbs! The Pretty Common, maximum weight was 45lbs before the COVID crisis. Thomas Leroy, mid-july, landed it again at
52lbs! 

We can’t wait to see the size of the big girls uncaught like the 66lb, 62lb, 58lb common etc...

The lake record grass carp has been broken at 64lbs (4 feet long), and the average size is really high now, with many fish weighting 55lb, 57lb, 59lb, 60lb, 62lb and 64lb. 

LAROUSSI BAITS

As you know, we designed a special boilie (please check June 2021 last news to see all the details). We have got in stock our fresh frozen boilies in 10, 14 and 20mm, the matching watfers, high quality pellets (we feed the stockpond carp with these pellets), and partiblend. If you need to order some baits, please send us an email. Thank you. In both lakes, Laroussi and Old Oaks, the boilie did really well this autumn, catching plenty of big fish. 

WATER QUALITY 

We noticed over the last couple of years some weed on the margin growing a bit more every year. Next month, in March 2022, we will apply a dark blue Dye color to reduce light going through the cristal clear water and so photosynthesis. That will probably improve the fishing, we will see… 

WINTER WORK

We repaired the wooden fence along the Anse swim. We trimmed the 150m long conifer edge on the back of La Pointe and Les 2 saules swims. That was a tough job ! We also cut the branches overgrowing along the track. 

NEW IN THE VILLAGE OF SPAY (2mn away from Laroussi) 

You will find now a fresh pizza distributor machine available 24h/24. That’s a handy machine if you dont want to cook ! You can still find in Spay, the butchery (new owners with a lot of choice), the bakery, the mini-market, cash machine, pharmacy, garage, etc…  

NEWS FROM THE GARDEN

As you know, we love growing giant vegetables, and many of you were waiting the final weights of the 2 pumpkins we grew in the patch. Last year, in 2020, we brook the french record pumpkin with a nice 1693lbs specimen. In october 2021, we beat again that record with a pumpkin weighing 1978lbs. The following week, we went to European Championship in Germany, and smashed again the national record, with a whopping 2169.3lbs monster! 

Our vegetables, as our boilies are 100% organic. If you need on site, fresh vegetables, do not hesitate to ask us, from july to november. We recommend you to test our special tomato!

Big Weight Gains, 21st Oct

The big fully scaled caught by John Allen in August at 56lb has been caught last week by Andy Pritchard at 64lb! Mehdi was there during the weighing and can confirm the weight. That's a weight gain of 8lb in 2 months - we have seen this across both Laroussi and Old Oaks, since anglers have returned to the bank, the fish are really piling the weight on.

Bait news, 18th Jun

 As promised, we finally hit our target. After spending over 4 months of research and multiple tests, the Laroussi Boilie is borned !! 

We create a fully balanced bait, easy digestible, highlyattractive, fresh and 100% natural. There’s no chemicals at all ( no preservative,
no synthetic flavours, etc…) 

There are no less than 12 ingredients ! 

We selected only the highest meals quality to bring ideals pourcentages of proteins, lipids, aminos, oligo-elements, vitamins,
carbohydrates, etc… 

This boilie has a fishmeal base, containing some highly attractive salmon meal, krill, squid meal, tuna meal, GLM extract, etc… 

The rolling company keeps saying this is by far the highest quality boilie they have ever made. 

We can’t reveal the details of all the ingredients of the recipe because we work hard to design it, but believe us, the strong smell of
all those quality meals is amazing ! 

During these 4 months, the boilie has been tested in both lakes, Laroussi and Old Oaks, with success, immediatly. The very first fish
caught weighed 58 lbs ! 

They come in 5 kg bags only. They are rolled and steamed to preserve a maximum of goodies. 

 The boilies are available in 3 sizes : 20mm, 14mm, 10mm.  

We sell also wafter including the 3 different size, 10mm, 14mm and 20mm in the same pot. 

We also sell pellets. 

 We work now with a very famous pellets company. It’s a quality fish meal pellets, especially
designed for carp. Size is 5 mm. Available in 25 kg bags only.
