General Comments:

I was the only angler on the lake, which was great but made it easy for the fish to move to the free pegs. I fish laroussi regulary and have never found litter in the swims. Mehdi is a great guy and works hard to keep the lake as beautiful as it is. I am already looking forward to my next trip.

No, when we booked it was advertised as having a good few fish over 60 and 70lb, if you look through the last few years catch reports, you will see that these fish are no longer present. We went with 8 anglers and there is no way the lake is made for 8. The price of a exclusive booking of the lake is about 50% too much, using fish that are no longer in a lake to get bookings and determine the price is just wrong. Medhi seemed a very nice bloke, although we only saw him once on the initial walk round, didn’t see him again for the whole week, even when leaving. *Owners Note* It is true the bigger carp have not come out recently but the stock has not changed in the lake. When we noticed that the average weight of the carp seemed to drop we removed many smaller nuisance catfish and grass carp to restore the balance. This means the bigger carp should again have access to more of the bait and we do continue to see 40's and 50's on the bank regularly, including this week with a 59lb mirror caught.

Yes, but not too laroussi.

General Comments:

I would recommend that people looking to book laroussi do plenty of research, and you will see that it is not the same place as it used to be, the lake is stunning, but the fish quality is not there anymore.

AL services are fine, it's the information from the lake owner to AL that's been the problem on this lake.

General Comments:

We booked this lake 18 months ago because it had a record fish of 72lb and plenty of other big fish. A couple of weeks before we went I got an e-mail from AL to say the lake record was now only 57lb, based on what had been caught in the last 18 months. We had heard rumours that the lake had lost it's bigger fish a few weeks before the e-mail came out. Had we known this before booking (and parting with over £4k!) we would never have booked the lake. The conditions were good, and we are all experienced anglers, so our hopes were very high. Unfortunately we hardly saw any fish!! The only fish we saw were in front of peg 5 at long range, Jack fished really well and caught 4 of our 10 fish. I fished peg 6 and only saw I fish all week on either of my spots. Mehdi is a really nice guy but I fear he has lost interest in the fishing and is now concentrating of his veg farm next door. We saw him for an hour when we arrived and then half an hour before we left. The whole lake looked a tad unkept with litter in every swim, which we were very surprised to find. *Owners note* I am very disappointed to hear this - the carp we stocked remain in the lake and this has not changed. Rumours are not facts, and can damage the lake and livelihood I have created over the last decade and a half greatly. It is incredibly important for me that anglers enjoy their trip and I am sorry you had a difficult week. I do live on site and am always available by mobile too if anglers need me. We readdressed the balance of fish in the lake throughout this year (removing smaller grass carp, catfish and sturgeon) so we can see the carp sizes thrive again. I believe the balance of other fish in the lake was not helping the carp to maintain their high weights over the last 18 months and so we have now taken all steps to correct this. But the 60's and 70's that were in the lake have not gone anywhere, I just believed some of them to be down in weight and we have been unlucky with others being somewhat elusive. The week I write this we have had a 59lb mirror on the bank and I expect us to continue to see larger carp out over the coming months.
