Details of your catches:

Rik’s fish: grass carp 48.8lb grass carp 36.8lb 2 x commons 18lb 20lb plus some small cats 10lb ish Ollie’s fish: common 18lb Grass carp 37.8lb Mirror 31lb. Catfish 74lb catfish 150lb plus smaller cats to around 20lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Using plenty of Mehdi’s partiblend and hemp good amount over each bait if the fish are feeding hard small amounts if the fishing is slow. I used my normal rigs with fake corn on all rods some pink some yellow, nothing special about rigs just used what I have confidence in.

General Comments:

I fished Laroussi 10 years ago and blanked on one trip and had one fish on the second trip a small common but I always wanted to return I feel I now have a very good idea of how to approach this lake. The lake holds massive fish which we saw many times in the margins snags etc had I done what I started doing on day 4 I would have caught at least 1 fish per night possibly more. One thing we think is important is to work hard in your swim with the marker rod don’t be scared to use it and watch the lake for fish moving about they will show you where they are and take on board Mehdi’s advice he is always very helpful and on the end of the phone. We will be back very soon, thanks again to Mehdi, was great to be back.

Details of your catches:

12 fish caught, 4 lost. 51lbs08oz, 48lbs, 47lbs, 45lbs, 44lbs, 42lbs x2, 40lbs, 37lbs 2 x 36lbs and 31lbs

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait, rigs: I mix 50% of the mighty Mehdi's partiblend with 50% of pure boilies to bait up, and a very fruity hookbait. Since I had bites quickly, I decided to bait up heavily between each bite, to keep the fish feeding. I checked my spots by watching directly with polarized glasses and all baits were gone within an hour.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Perfect. Nice and clean and confortable. It was nice to use a big freezer and a big fridge during such hot weather.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes. Yes. The lake itself is beautiful, There's plenty of shade on every swim.

General Comments:

Man, it was damn hot!!! Up to 35°C, but fish were feeding mad. I baited up one spot by hand and noticed all bait were gone within an hour. For that reason, I decided to use plenty of bait to keep the fish feeding on my spots. I like to mix partiblend with boilies to keep the fish a long time on my spots. When you fish only 48 hours, usually, you fish for one bite at a time, and use a few handfuls of bait. But, it wasn't enough. This is why I use so much bait. I was on peg 1, fishing the far bank and my hookbait was a small fruity and sweety stuff. Two months ago, I did the same trick, and had 17 bites in 48 hours off the very last peg. When you know the lake, you can catch regularly even in tough conditions. I would have caught much more fish if I could stay...

General Comments:

Our week was a bit tough due to high air pressure and blazing sun for the whole week but none the less Laroussi is a fantastic place to be. The lake is really nice looking with a mixture of various depths with a few gravel bars and some nice marginal shelves to fish on. On the first morning we was greeted by Medhi who is a good smiley character and was very helpful and looked after us throughout the whole week. We went for a walk around the whole lake before deciding where to fish and Medhi shared with us his considerable knowledge of Laroussi and gave us few pointers. Angling lines website is comprehensive and was easy to follow and made it easy to book and pay for our trip and they updated us regularly. Although our week was difficult due to the weather we will definitely be going again as the whole thing was a good experience from beginning to end. Cheers Mehdi . . . . . It was a pleasure. Andy and Graham
