General Comments:

Lake is quality. Not for inexperienced.

Details of your catches:

7 anglers on lake, 1 sturgeon caught , 2 lost by another angler who was pleased this occurred. We class them as nuisance fish. 3 grass carp, biggest being 48lb, lovely fish. 1 catfish around 10lb. No carp were caught which is just mind boggling as all of the 7 anglers on can’t be rubbish.. 5 anglers on the lake had been numerous times before but agreed that each time we go the fishing gets harder. Fish management or lack of it can be the only answer. In fairness to Medhi who I like immensely, the fish started to spawn on the Thursday because of the high temperatures we experienced. Medhi has a amazing lake and some massive beautiful carp but (my opinion only) carp anglers do not want to catch sturgeon, catfish and grass carp. We go out to France spend a huge amount of time and money for the enjoyment and passion of catching carp .

In the past when I have fished the lake - 15-20 Spods on hard spots any type of rig just presented properly.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Excellent as ever , new floor had been put down in shower / toilet hut . Nice Shower excellent always clean .

Were you happy with them?

Yes but could have towel hooks in shower room by sink . Nowhere to put towel when washing or having shave, minor point though.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

In the past I would have definitely had said yes and I could see myself fishing this lake for many years .some amazing carp, lovely sized laked and Medhi is a true gentleman. But I would say no now because of the points I have raised, the choice of lakes in France is ever increasing and owners have to be on there game with what the anglers wants and fish management. I feel Medhi does not understand what an English angler/ customer wants.

General Comments:

The weather started off raining for the 1st 2 days then cold nights by tuesday temps were hitting 27 28 degrees but still cold nights. The lake was virtually dead all week with only 2 or 3 visible fish a day, i was starting to think the fish had been taken out. The only runs that came were from sturgeon catching lines as they passed. The day of departure the carp was going ballistic spawning under the trees. So basically ive wasted a shed load of money and time plus looked forward to this for two years for a week of fishing that was a waste of time. Its time these venues had a close season in place to let the carp spawn and rest plus minimise the chance of anglers totally wasting there money. I understand i could have chosen other months but decided on early April to get there before spawning as in the past ive been in May and hit spawning.
