General Comments:

Very very tough week and slow but mainly due to carp spawning at the end of the week. The sturgeon are a pain as they keep going through your lines whether you fish slack or tight lines moving your rigs from the spots throughout the night which you think are runs. This is my 6th time on laroussi and each time it seems to be getting harder to catch mirror or common carp as I believe that the sturgeon and grass carp are overtaking the lake which is a real shame as there is some lovely mirrors and commons to be had if you can get past the sturgeon or grassys 1st. *Angling Lines note* We fully appreciate this was a very frustrating week and have discussed the points you have raised with Mehdi at length. Whilst some weeks see very few sturgeon and grass carp, Mehdi says the grasses were a nuisance in the last couple of weeks because of the hot weather and the carp getting ready to spawn. However, we understand that when the fishing is tougher and the carp aren't on the feed, you don't want to be getting multiple runs from grass carp. He has agreed to reduce the number of these by taking out 20 and 30lb'ers. He now has only 4 sturgeon. Mehdi also believes the carp have been spooking a lot because the catfish are so big now (6 between 120 to 180lb). He will look to remove some of these too, but not all.

Unfortunatley neither of us caught a carp. My partner landed a 16lb pike on single boilie? and I lost 2 one of which i think was a sturgeon.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Out of all 6 on the lake the best approach seemed to be little and often. But the weather was very up and down with temperatures one minute at 4 degrees with an easterly wind then the next day 23 degrees with a southerly wind so difficult to get any consistancy. A lot of fish showing in the middle of the lake bit out of reach at 200 yds unless you jave a bait boat, but they didnt want to feed. Thats the chance you take at end of march

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were good and always clean. A bit of a trek from the corner swim

Were you happy with them?

Very happy. Good shower. Drinking water on tap and medhi was always a phone call away if you needed anything

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes. It was a very tricky week but we will return as some very big fish in there. The sturgeon are a problem and with the exeption of the lads on the point swin, the other 4 were constantly getting lines picked up and all rods wiped out on occassions. Dont use pellet and do use back leads to minimise this

Yes the booking and arrangements were spot on so will have no hesitation using angling lines again.

General Comments:

The lake is well laid out with all swims comfotable and plenty of water to fish to. The lake bed is pretty flat mainly silt with a few small gravel spots but they are small and hard to find. No weed or snags.

Critically balanced cell boilies, with a handful of free offerings in the baitboat

General Comments:

Weather was up and down all week, which made it a difficult week to fish. A Great Lake. Mehdi the owner is great, there if you need him but otherwise lets you get on with it

Small amounts of bait, some of Mehdis partiblend, along with Mainlines Cell boilies.

General Comments:

Laroussi is a top class French venue, Mehdi the owner is a top class bloke. With some large and fantastic looking carp, its got everything you could ask for and some!! Do yourself a favour and book a trip, French carp fishing at its best.
