Q: How much bait will I need?

It does depend on the time of year and weather conditions, but we'd suggest approximately 10kg of seeds and bait per angler.

Q: What bait do you recommend?

LBL range + lakes own seeds - the fish are used to feeding on this.

Q: If you supply bait on site, will I be able to get more bait during my stay if I need it?

Yes, we have stock onsite and a price list available. Simply place your order with us via WhatsApp.

Q: What breaking strain of main line do you recommend?

Nylon mainline between 0.3-0.45 mm only. Braided mainline allowed but must be used with a minimum 4m fluorocarbon leader.

Q: Can I drive all the way around the lake in order to unload?

You can access all swims by car and your car can stay parked there, there is a gravel access road.

Q: Is it possible to park a campervan or caravan at the lake? If so, is it possible to park it close enough to the swim(s) to fish from?

Swims 2 and 3 are recommended for caravans and motorhomes.

Q: Can we drink the tap water?

Yes, we are connected to mains water, which is safe to drink.

Q: Can you usually get mobile phone coverage at the lake & 3g or 4g coverage?

Our experience is that we have very good mobile network coverage, it always depends on your network but we've never had a problem.

Q: How far are the nearest supermarket / petrol / tabac?

Everything you need is available 10 minutes from the site in the town of Givry-en-Argonne or 20 minutes away in the town of Sainte-Menehould, which has a hospital with a 24-hour emergency service. Numerous local producers are in the village right next to the lake (beef, pork, fruit, vegetables) - a list is available.

Q: Is the lake secure? Can we leave our gear on the bankside if we go out?

The lake is surrounded by a fence, there is a gate at the entrance with a code-lock system, and the Aisne river runs along the edge of the property. We think it is fairly secure but we cannot take responsibility for your belongings.
