Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Use the throwing stick and keep on throwing boilies out on top of your rig every few hour, we found that this make the fish want to eat more, so this resulted to more bites. We were using a mix of urban baits boilies, that were the Nutcracker and Red Spicy. Our hook bait choose was the mainline hi vis fluro dumbell pop ups, in Banofee and Plum flavour, these resulted in more catches. We tried to use a bottom bait technique but that did not work as it was getting destroyed by crayfish all the time. We use a Roonie rig we a boom section with a 4oz drop off lead system.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Much better than expected.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy with the accommodation and fishing facilities.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Would highly recommend this venue
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes definitely
General Comments:
We went as a family of 6, the venue was idyllic, beautiful house, lake and swimming pool and surrounding countryside. The nearby village had a well stocked supermarket and we found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The boys had a great week fishing successfully catching many large fish, the hire equipment from Gilles was of top quality. Bordeaux is a beautiful place. We will definitely be going back next year.

Details of your catches:
3x30lb+mirror carp beautifull condition, 5×common carp up to 26lb, 5×grass carp up to 23lb plus 1 surprise goldfish of 12lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The best tactics are to do exactly what gilles says and you will catch fish, I left some of my boilies out in the sun to dry and harden a bit it dosent bother the carp but stops the poisson chat eating them so quick, also I would take some korda boilie shrink wrap that stops the poisson chat all together but still lets the boilie flavour out.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were excellent, could not be better.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes we hope to be going again next year with some friends but on the main lake
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes
General Comments:
Thanks to gilles and sharon they have made a very memorable week for us, they made us very welcome and are always available if you need anything. Listen to gilles he knows his stuff, they are his lakes and fish after all.

Details of your catches:
18 fish at Lotus lake.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Hard baits to stop the small cat fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We had a viewing of the main lake and house. This is an excellent facility. Rooms are spacious and the view from the house across the lake is stunning. I would fully recommend this venue. The guys that used the house the week we were on Lotus lake had many big fish from Main Lake.
Were you happy with them?
Gillies is very helpful and knows his lakes, follow his advice and catch fish through your holiday.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes for main Lake and House not for the house at willow (Lotus) Lake but Lotus Lake fishing was fine.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Not at this time
General Comments:
All my comments should be used as a guide only, we were not happy with Willow Cottage but the Lake produced good quality fishing.

Details of your catches:
22 carp, three 26lb, mix, commons, mirrors and a few koi. Maybe a dozen small cats through the week, small pellet maybe didn't help.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Definitely slower this year, but the 36c temps and no wind didn't help. (Apart from the sun tan 😀)
Rhaja Spice 20mm's bottom baits and 15mm Fluoro pop ups snowman style, double bottom baits, size 4 hooks, 10 inch hook links. Bait boat under the willow tree and to the left side of the aerator.
Only fished days and did have a few afternoons off due to the heat and some socialising.
Were the facilities what you expected?
This was our third year at Willow Cottage, it's great for us as our kids are older. The cottage has rustic charm and all rooms are clean and today, the seating area outside and the location of the lake are perfect for a bit of fishing and nice family time. This year we even had a barbecue with the neighbours!
Were you happy with them?
We love Mas Bas, it's a long drive down from Calais (9 hours), but a bit of planning and organisation and its soon become quite a nice drive!
The countryside views and environment at Mas Bas are something quite special, I have no other desire to go any where else really, ticks all my boxes as a venue to take my family and kids. Just booked the main house for 2018 and taking the in-laws, so must be good.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes I would, Mas Bas is a great place for families, the main house is the best for families with younger kids, I think Willow cottage is more accommodating for older kids.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Mas Bas service was excellent. Angling Lines could be more flexible on the options to not take up the Ferry or Shuttle options. The price of the holiday has gone up each year, there is a take it or leave it attitude which is a little disappointing after three years of booking and very minimal interaction from Angling Lines.
General Comments:
We arrived on the Saturday afternoon, really enjoyed the glass of wine and friendly welcome, Gilles and Sharon are lovely people and we look forward to seeing them again in 2018. main Lake here I come!!
