Moving around on to the fish was the best approach, they move around a lot so when the bites slowed up we moved on to the fish and picked up multiple hits again

Mick is a fantastic host here, couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was ever too much trouble, great fishing, great facilities and we had a great time.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Dark baits worked for Chris, although all fish came from one swim, accuracy being key. Had to be within a 1 metre radius to get bites. No other bites off his other two rods.
Others caught on bright baits i.e. white boilie, fake corn.
All of us tried various methods to get bites to no avail. Pop-ups, bottom baits, wafters, zigs.
Parti-mix , Maize, Hemp, Chopped boilie were all used to try and get the fish feeding, but nothing worked.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The accommodation had everything you needed. Plenty of cooking utensils etc. plenty of freezer space for bait too.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, we were very happy with the facilities, very clean, tidy. Hot tub was used every day by the non fisherman.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Unfortunatly we would not recommend the venue, as the fishing was disappointing.
Accommodation was spot on though.

Yes, Angling Lines always go out their way to help. Top company to deal with.

General Comments:

For some reason the lake did not fish well at all. There were 8 anglers fishing and not a lot of runs, except from Chris swim who had 6 of his fish on Monday. The fish did seem to be hiding somewhere, as there were no shows or signs of fish, even when we used a fish finder. There seemed to be no fish in the middle of the lake. The lake can easily accommodate the amount of anglers (8) whether the disturbance pushed the fish to the far margin or put them off, we are not sure.
We were lucky though that the fish that did come out were in smashing condition, and two of them were over 40lb.
Fishing the margins became a problem with crayfish destroying the bait quickly. Fortunately we had wrap to protect our baits.
Mick the owner was great, he could not do enough to help, even going out on the boat to rescue a bait boat.

2 doubles, 8 twenties and 15 thirties.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Used the boilies and particles supplied by the owners, with 15mm Wafters on a standard hair rig, but with a long hook link. We fished during daylight hours only and we were well pleased with the results, both anglers having achieved new PB’s.

Excellent facilities, comfortable and well equipped.

Were you happy with them?

Very happy. There is only one bathroom and toilet, but the facilities were absolutely fine for our party of four adults.

We had a great holiday, excellent fishing and Ryan and Louise are fantastic hosts, doing everything possible to make our stay enjoyable.

Great place, great setting and really good fishing. Cannot wait to go back. Host was superb ,helped with the fishing and nothing was too much trouble.
