Varied around the lake. Our results individually were as follows:
9 carp to 44lb,
5 carp to 32lb,
13 carp to 32lb,
7 carp to 34lb,
3 carp to 28lb
2 carp which were 34lb and 36lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Lots of particle. We caught mostly on tigernuts but a few on boilies. Lake quite shallow but carp still catchable. It was cloudy and raining when we were there.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes.

Were you happy with them?

With so much cloud and rain, solar wasn't the best but all ok, showers weren't amazingly hot though.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, we'd go back. Bailiff is great.

Yes, used you before and will do again, already booked next year!

Details of your catches:

2 x Anglers 32 fish caught, a new pb 44lb 8oz common, also a 36lb mirror, 30lb common, 30lb grass carp 4 x doubles from 17 to 19lb. All others 20lb-29lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All fish but 3 caught far bank on size 4 hooks hair rig with 3 tiger nuts. Every fish on tiger nuts and very hot weather, bites all times day and night.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Fished peg 5, huge swim with a big wooden shelter that we slept under the last night as the bivvys were dried out the day before, saving a lot of hassle on the morning we left.

Were you happy with them?

Yes very, peg 5 has its own toilet behind swim that does the job. Also shower block was clean and tidy with a fridge freezer. All power comes from solar panels so advise a good power pack. We had an ecoflow power bank with own solar panel that lasted and baitboat a must to get bait to far bank. Lake depths 0.8 mir all over lake with very little snags.

Very hard fighting fish due to the depth of the lake and all fish in pristine condition and friendly bailiffs.

7 fish between 8 all week weather was making things difficult, all carp between 24lb and 40lb

General Comments:

Bailiffs told us to fish far margins we lost 8 fish due to severe snags which weren’t mentioned… we were told theres no snags over there and you’ll get a drop back and they will kite out…. Absolute rubbish… and whilst I was walking around the complex to peg 4, I walked the far margins with waders, I dragged in 6 lines some with leaders on and retrieved at least 150 Mtrs of line.. there’s fallen trees floating logs and overhanging obstacles. The place is infested with rats l mean infested crawling over your bed chair climbing over the bivvies despite eliminating any particle dropped on the ground… Bailiff was very vague regarding location just said far bank and tight.. bailiff said you’ll only catch far margins at least 140 -160 yards on mono with snags... absolutely ludicrous, he told us to keep away from the island and despite us ignoring his suggestion we ended up catching 3 fish from it. Dutch guy in peg 3 left early Thursday morning disgusted said he's never coming back whilst the 2 guys in swim 1 stayed on til Saturday but vowed never to return, his words were 'I can stay in Uk and catch a 20lber' they only caught 2 carp biggest 28lb... we left early Friday morning vowing never to return.
*Angling Lines comment* We have discussed your feedback with the Bailiff, he appreciates that there were high pressure weather conditions this week which made the fishing very tough going for all anglers. As you can see from previous feedback this season the lake had otherwise been fishing well. Anglers do usually catch really well from the far margin which is why it was recommended - the bailiff Franck genuinely wants anglers to catch well and would not purposefully try to guide you in any way that was unhelpful. Regarding rats, this is the first complaint the bailiff has had but the situation will be monitored and managed appropriately.
