The bailiff and the owner were extremely good with us, they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our fishing trip.

A very hard week’s fishing. 1 x 50, 1 x 40 and a few other fish to back them up.

Fishing just off hard gravel areas into the silt with house baits worked the best.

Better, a really good wet room shower.

Absolutely, the lake owner (Andy) has been in the fishing industry for many years and his passion for fishing is has strong as ever, he is very knowledgeable and is happy to share it when asked. He has some very funny stories about his time in the local area, just ask about the wild boar!

General Comments:

Just come back from a week’s fishing. Had 5 carp myself, the fishing was a little slow. But would recommend this venue and the food was excellent. Thank you all at Sky Lakes, see u in 2025

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tricky weeks fishing with the fish not really getting caught off the usual spots in the swim. Casting/boating to showing/fizzing fish proved the best tactic to keep fish being caught. All fish coming off lake bait with snowmen, or straight through bottom baits.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were as expected and described, shower was great and was not as rigid to 4-6pm as per the previous feedback I had seen. Do remember to pack toilet roll though. Andy has a stock of all basics required such as batteries, waters, milk etc incase you are caught short during the week and is happy to collect any simple items for you on the daily run to the shop for the food for the evening.

Yes, exactly what you would expect.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

100%. We have used angling lines for over 7 years now and this is hands down the best lake we have been to in France. Totally understandable how its a tough lake to secure a spot on.

General Comments:

Brilliant week was had by all despite the fishing being tough but thats the way it is sometimes. Food package was a first for us and will be a must when we come back in 2025. Andy & Rob are brilliant and are up there with the best I've met in France. happy to help whenever you want it but also happy to give you your space and figure things out yourself if thats more your thing. Bernie's food was brilliant, and for a fussy eater was still absolutely brilliant.
Couldn't rate this place any higher. Roll on 2025 when we are back again!
