Souvenirs Fish
Before 2022 this lake was largely unfished, as it was a leisure lake used mainly for weekend barbecues and social events for over twenty years by a local farmer's family.
In winter 2022, 72 carp from the renowned Euro Aqua strain were introduced. This was followed in winter 2023 by a further 26 carp, mainly heavily scaled mirrors weighing between 18–22lb. Most recently, in February 2025, an additional 38 carp in the 20–25lb bracket were stocked.
Combined with the originals, we estimate the stock level to sit at around 290 carp with an average in the mid 20's, but there are several resident 50lb+ carp already.
The lake has several koi, at least one sturgeon and a few catfish (although these are rarely seen). There is also a head of around 20 grass carp with the biggest around 60lb.
