Details of your catches:

We have had over 50 carp this week between 3 of us, several over 50lb, over 10 over 40lb plus Karen's 154lb sturgeon that was a beast!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All rods fishes close in less then 25 metres out using double 22mm tuna boiles over a massive bed of trout pellet definitely sorted out the bigger fish, particles gave us problems with small carp

Were the facilities what you expected?

Faculties were really good, the toilet and shower is great, plenty of space for bait and food in the freezers and charging points

Were you happy with them?

Frank is a very nice guy and very helpful, this is our 3rd trip and we will come again

Details of your catches:

10 carp - both mirror & common up to 44lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Size 2 hooks as suggested by Frank, quite a bit of bait and wait. Listen to Frank and put into practice his advice.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Basic shower and toilet but having been to Vaumigny before we knew what to expect. Good to have a place to charge equipment

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, having been twice and rebooked for a third time I would highly recommend. If you are looking for a natural, large lake, basic facilities, drive & survive and big fish Vaumigny could be the ideal lake for you

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes!!! During covid Angling lines were in touch constantly regarding booking, updates, changes to government policies, couldn't ask for a better service

General Comments:

Vaumigny is a natural lake and many of the swims have steep banks, possibly needing some cutting back to make access to your rods easier and to give room to bivvy up closer to your rods. Plenty of the snags so not a lake for the faint hearted - be prepared to lose fish, wade and expect the fish to put up a fight. The lake is well located the villages near by has all the amenities you will need. Usually quiet - although there is a factory close by, there are odd times this can be a bit noisy but does not interfere with the fishing. Vaumigny really is a beautiful lake and although sometimes hard going when it produces the fish are stunning. Frank has great knowledge of the lake and is more than happy to give you advise.
