New Cabin In Swim 8, 17th Jan

Exciting news from the lake, lots of work is being done over winter including a new waters edge cabin being built in swim 8.

The cabin is on a platform right next to the water which, for a small additional cost, means if you don't want to bring a bivvy and bed chair you don't have to. No more setting up the bivvy or breaking it down in the rain and no more stuck inside unable to stand in bad weather. Now you can hire a cabin with a bunk bed table and chairs, lighting and phone charging. Eat your breakfast in the warm whilst looking over the lake and even in bad weather enjoy your creature comforts.

The cabin is in swim 8 and approx 60m away from the lakes faculties including shower and toilets. It's not finished yet so we don't have great pictures but here are the latest ones. We are really excited for the cabin and think once finished it will be a great feature. We will keep the latest news updated with our progress, we hope to have it finished by mid February.

New Fish Added, 6th Jan

Some really stunning new ghostie commons added to the lake over winter.

We added 7 of these beauties and can't wait to see them on the bank. They ranged in size and colour tone and the biggest was upper doubles.

Update on the fishing , 7th Sep

Here at villefond we had a few week gap in our bookings which was great to rest the fish and do some work around the lake.

We have built a new bridge and platform in swim 8 where we will be building a nice water side cabin. This will have heating and a couple of beds and a table and be well insulated so people can fish comfortably all year round right out the doors. But it means as a few people never posted feedback we haven't had any for awhile, we have posted some recently and lots of pictures .

The fishing was hard a few months back as the naturals were in full bloom and the carp spawned lots this year so were not aggressively feeding, I have added below a picture of a 36lb common I caught on a night known as little john... this fish is normally 50lb so you can see how much they have spawned! The fish was a massive head and a massive tail with no belly at all!

Great news recently the temperature has dropped as it was very hot and it has encouraged the fish to get more heavily on the bait to get their weight back on and they are doing exactly that, piling it back on fast. Even our sturgeon the shark-like captain Sherman has been making an appearance giving anglers a memorable & exciting experience!

Arnold made another appearance breaking the lake record last week by 4 ounces. He came out to a really nice guy who had only recently started carp fishing but was really keen and whos personal best before was a twenty something he caught earlier in the week. He spotted a feeding fish and cast to it producing a fish he will spend a long time trying to best at a massive 65.12 !!

Keep an eye out for new pictures and feedback as it comes in as this week we have two guys absolutely killing it with loads of big fish between them!

Arnold On The Bank, 31st Aug

Jamie Clayton has landed 'Arnold' at 65lb 12oz. This elusive fish has a comparatively small head and immense set of shoulders, what a beast.
