General Comments:
Great lake and owners very nice, would like steps cut into swims when the water level is down as was very hard to deal with large carp especially in the swims with large rocks in front we were very worried about damaging the fish

Details of your catches:
We had 14 fish in total between 5 anglers, unfortunately we didn't get into many of the big fish but still enjoyable fishing and fish on the bank! We had 2 40's biggest at 46lb 11oz and the second 41lb on the dot and 12 fish between 13 - 28lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Tactics varied throughout the group, solid bags proved most effective and fishing the margins accounted for most of the fish. Feeding hemp, maize and crushed boilie. We had very hot weather at the beginning of the week which seemed to turn the fish off but after some heavy downpours from Wednesday night onwards the fish started to show a little more interest.

Overall yes, the shower isn't too inviting but this is because of the spiders and what not in the cabin (haha not a problem if that doesn't bother you) and the lighting isn't too good when dark but this is drive and survive and you get what's advertised including a hot shower. With regards to cleanliness, there are no issues what so ever and lots of things such as hand wash, toilet roll, sanitiser and washing up liquid is provided.

Definitely, Angling lines have been so easy to deal with and so helpful throughout the whole process I can't see another French trip not being through Angling Lines.
General Comments:
Debbie, Mark and John are outstanding hosts, lovely people and really go above and beyond and do everything they can to make you feel welcome and at home. The food package is outstanding and well well worth paying extra for. Unexpected to us, cool boxes were provided and ice packs were changed every day, also charging points are made available in the cabin which also are changed as needed. Debbie and John are more than happy to take things back with them to charge, things like bait boat batteries etc etc.
Mark was very busy with work throughout the week but still checked in with us every day and done everything he could to provide as much info and help regarding the fishing and where to fish. Be prepared to adapt and put the work in for the bites, this is a pressured big fish lake not a runs water. The lake itself is stunning with lots of wildlife and is very well maintained.
The only criticism we would have is that the swims are not super user friendly and would really benefit from being made into proper swims, some are quite steep and uneven close to the water which can make netting fish and putting fish back hard so I would definitely recommend waders here. The only issue I had personally was getting bivvy pegs in and I use separate bank sticks which were really hard to get in, in a decent spot, so would recommend at least buzz bars or a pod.
Overall brilliant place which we would visit again.

Just my nephew and I,
51lb 9oz mirror
48lb 7oz mirror
46lb 1oz mirror (twice)
41lb common
40lb mirror
28lb mirror
25lb mirror
20lb mirror
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Find your spots and bait them up. Little and often the fish will come to you. No bait or rig worked better than others(in our case) but definitely listen to John and Marks advice.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. Shower was nice and hot. Charging points (usb) were plenty and bathroom facilities were clean and comfy. The food package was excellent (definitely worthwhile)
Were you happy with them?
Absolutely!!! Didn't expect 5* but certainly was not disappointed. Debbie John and Mark were great hosts with lots of knowledge about the lake.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, absolutely. Definitely coming back next year!!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. Angling Lines are are small family run team, but extremely professional and the care they put into making sure your trip goes smoothly is great!
